So this marks the end of this chapter. This is a democracy and the will of the majority must be respected. While it is my personal belief that some of those results are somewhat suspect (Rivers state with 75+% voter turnout? PDP nearly matching CPC in Kaduna?) we have to respect the result.

Just for the fun of it, we can do a little sensitivity analysis by slashing off 50% of GEJ votes in the SS. I believe he will still win the election. I will try this when all the results are out. For now, using my election projection model, a SS turnout of 50% still puts GEJ well ahead in the lead. The victory in SW was very vital for GEJ.

Anyway, congratulations to Nigeria for making a strong statement to the world.

if we do a little sensitivity analysis
what the heck is the meaning of that? huh huh
Re: It's Certain: Jonathan Has Won. by efisher(m): 5:01pm On Apr 17, 2011
grin

Sensitivity analysis involves changing the variables of a system and monitoring the response of the system to the change. In this case, by varying the turnout, we can see if high or low turnout in particular areas would have changed the final outcome. We can even completely eliminate the votes of the so called "suspect" states and see if the same winner emerges. It's just a bunch of statistical calculations to further verify the credibility of the process.

I hope I helped.

[size=14pt]Efisher is being cautious, and not wanting to celebrate prematurely, but phuck it, my celebration is ALREADY in full progress, because sure as the Pope is Catholic, Johnny B. Goodluck is Nigeria's 2011 presidential election winner.

The parties are in full swing across the globe at this hour, for the fifth-largest oil producer is now CONFIRMED to be in SAFE HANDS for at least another four years.   History has just been made in Nigeria today, girls and boys, and I am glad to be alive to witness this triumph of people power in modern day Africa. I doubt GEJ will win if the real results are used

sorry matey. the decease been with us from independence so that should not be an excuse for the abysmally performance by both RIBADU AND BUHARI.
this is politics and its number of votes that count at the end of the day. to crown the ridiculous performance by buhari and co, he could not garnish enough votes even in the core north, where it matters most.
this in essence translate to me that the north must raise its game and present CREDIBLE candidate next tym.
these bunch ain't good enuff.

Maybe naija is very different. But doesn't a candidate getting 99%+ of the vote in even his home state seem. . . weird? Fake?

GEJ is neither from the SE region nor an Igbo. So cut the crap. Igbos voted based on their individual convictions.

It is not at all unusual to have 99% in a few states. . . it happened in the US in some states in the last presidential elections

There are 8 states GEJ won with those kind of margines - this only proves that majority of the electorate believes he's the best man for the job.

You can't go crying foul, when you have election observers, from foreign countries all saying these are the freeest elections in Nigeria so far. Let's move on and support the president - a better Nigeria benefits all.
