THE IDAGU ODEY FOUNDATION (TIOfoundation) CELEBRATES EASTER WITH WIDOWS IN GAKEM.

The plight of widows in Nigeria, majority of whom are vulnerable and saddled with the responsibility of raising their children by themselves with little or no supports or provision to make do with, has attracted the attention of a Non-Governmental Organization, NGO.

The Idagu Odey (TIO) Foundation, in line with its mission and vision, which is to continuously act in all of its capacity to support widows and the less privileged in the society, has celebrated Easter with widows in the Gakem community of Cross Rivers state, South-South of Nigeria.

The TIO Foundation, as part its Widows’ Easter Outreach that aims to put smiles on the faces of widows in the Gakem community, distributed 50 bags of rice and cash gifts of N50,000 to the affected widows in Gakem community, Cross River State, Nigeria.

The Gakem Youth President, Comrade Okoli Francis Ogah while addressing the Widows and attendees, extolled the TIO Foundation for always being of help and providing succour to many.

He also recalled that the TIO Foundation has always played a great role in the success of the Gakem Unity Tournament 2020.

Comrade Peter Olofu, Bekwarra Youths President commended the efforts of Mr. Emmanuel Idagu Odey, CEO of the TIO Foundation for being a liberal man and always sharing the little he has with his people.

Chief Philip Ugbada clan head of Atibulum Kingdom, while addressing the people poured encomiums on the CEO of the TIO Foundation and commended his homely gesture in reaching out to the Widows in the solemn week.

He also revealed that Mr. Emmanuel Idagu Odey built a Hall at the Comprehensive Secondary School Gakem, and that many Gakem Sons and Daughters both in the University and Secondary School are benefiting from his magnanimity.

He concluded by charging the Widows to constantly put Mr. Emmanuel in their daily prayers, and that they should celebrate the Holy week knowing that Christ is the reason for the season.

The Widows were overwhelmed with joy and showered praises on the CEO of TIO Foundation for remembering them and prayed God to bless and prosper the work of his hands.

They unanimously agreed to hearken to the words of Chief Philip in putting Mr. Emmanuel in their daily prayers.

Mr. Odey Idagu, representative of the TIO Foundation appreciated the Elders, Chief, Youths and Widows for honouring the invitation even as he averred that the Foundation is poised to touch lives and providing humanitarian services.
