West Ham are set to launch a permanent move for Jesse Lingard - but there are emerging concerns over how much Manchester United will demand for the England international.

There is optimism at the London Stadium that they can pull off a successful swoop for Lingard, who has been a revelation since joining on loan in January.

The 28-year-old is known to have fully enjoyed his switch to London and there is encouragement at West Ham that he will give serious consideration to staying beyond this season.

The forward has been sensational since joining on loan in January, scoring six goals in eight games and assisting four times.

His displays have earned him an England recall, with Lingard now a serious contender to be part of Gareth Southgate's Euros squad.

West Ham are understandably keen to tie up a permanent deal for the 28-year-old given his huge impact.

No talks over the possibility of a full time move for Lingard have taken place between the Hammers and United as of yet - but the London club are keen to address the issue before the end of the season.

However, there are emerging concerns with regards to the price tag United will set for Lingard given his brilliant performances so far.

West Ham did not secure an option to buy when negotiating the loan deal for Lingard and there are understandable fears that United will drive the price up.

Similarly, there is also likely to be rival interest in Lingard ahead of next season which will likely add a further complication to West Ham's pursuit.

Wolves, Tottenham, Newcastle and Arsenal were among the clubs that considered moves for Lingard in January while others will have been alerted to his Sterling performances.

The United academy graduate will enter the final 12 months of his contract this summer and there seems little hope of him extending his deal at Old Trafford, meaning the club will likely look to sell Lingard to avoid losing him for nothing.

But United are still expected to ask for a significant sum - as much as £30million - for Lingard and will be confident of sparking a biding war given his breathtaking resurgence this season.

Fantastic player.....Pray he moves permanently...

I be Man Utd fan .....but I can't deny the fact that recently most players don't do well at UTD after the Ferguson era....

Bisakka......Van de beek.........Martial.....Pogba hasn't reached his full potential..... Fernando is jumping at every penalty opportunity..... Rashford is trying but.........The rest are still doing well....but they're still average when compared to the on fire Man City players this season.....

The only outstanding players this season are Shaw.... Greenwood and James.....but them still dey learn work for those man City players side...

Anyway I'm UNITED forever....I just wish our players will start playing the same way the previous ones did in the Ferguson era......Talk about Tevez....Ronaldo..... Valencia....Rooney..... Ferdinand....Vidic.....Nani....Giggs.....Evra.....O'shea...... etc.....If you hear these names then fear must catch you.....

Sometimes when I watch this current squad the only thing I see is Zebra playing football....

He will do well for himself leaving Manchester.

It appears he's made for a smaller team.
.

I still have fresh memories of the sleepy Lord lingard scoring the last goal of the season, with his first touch, less than a minute after he was brought in.

£75million Pounds or no deal angry

If Bayern Leverkusen can scam Chelsea of such amount for "a German Lingard" then United too should also scam West Ham and sell "an English Havertz" to them cheesy tongue

It's only wise for man u to cash out on him. Lingard has proven to be a solid mid table star like the likes of Zaha and Lukaku.

These set of players can hadly compete for a place with their mates on a top flight team — this is so because, a lot is always required from them. For instance; Arsenal's Abumayang has always been in consistent form until this season that he has been struggling. But the moment he goes to a mid table club, he will be their Messi. Anthony Martial is currently experiencing the same fate. These players must be consistently reliable when needed otherwise, they will struggle to hold down a place in a top flight team.

Zaha seems like Crystal Palace's Salah but wait until he goes to a top flight club where consistently will be demanded.

So, Man u should cash out big on him now that he is at his peak. I trust Chelsea's Marina, that woman will send West ham Chelsea's bank account number sharp sharp because she understands this part of football business.
