President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed a new acting Inspector General of Police. Minister of Police Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi, disclosed this Tuesday in Abuja, stating that the appointment was with immediate effect. The appointment of Usman Alkali Baba, a Deputy Inspector General of Police, implies that IGP Mohammed Adamu will have to proceed on his retirement leave. Buhari had on Feb. 4 extended the tenure of Mohammed Adamu as the Inspector General of Police for three months. Adamu spent two months and three days during the extended period.
