Several victims have reported the case of one Mr. Arinze Zona Obiajunwa popularly known as Zonaboy, who engages defrauding Nigerians in diaspora over land schemes in Imo State. The young man, who operates with a Zenith Bank account number 2119951196, is from Awo Mmama and is suspected to have involved his girlfriend in his nefarious activity. She is believed to help him with forging documents for his victims.

His scheme involves making videos with legal owners of the real estate and then presenting himself as a representative of the estate. He defrauded people by falsely advertising lands in China Estate, Owerri, and landed properties along World Bank road, Owerri. He convinces his victims, whom he usually add to his private WhatsApp group, to pay into his Zenith Bank account and thereafter provides them with forged Power of Attorney.

Part of his con game involves claiming he is a contractor for the government, and he is known to show a lavish lifestyle on his Facebook profile thereby giving a false presentation of a successful contractor.

According to reports from his victims, he has defrauded several people to the tune of over 10 million Naira and would have had moree victims if he had not been exposed. Zenith Bank has been informed with regards to these and has taken some actions. However, the young man is still at large.

Efforts to involve the EFCC are ongoing as the young man among many claims also falsely mentions he has a connection with the Imo State government. The Management of China Estate (Unbreakable Associates Nigeria Limited) has revealed the young fraud star has no connection with them, and further advised that investors should not engage with Zonaboy, or anyone associated with him, in any land business involving their organization.
