No engineering course is easier as no one is harder. I don't think as a Mechatronics engineer, you'll have in-depth knowledge of electronics than an Electrical/electronics major or more mechanical knowledge than a mechanical engineer. Although, They are interrelated, as you can opt for Mechatronics for masters after a Mechanical or Electrical Bachelors. As to my first statement?, It depends on the individual and what he or she really wants...
