SaharaReporters had on Thursday reported that army personnel invaded some villages in the council, burning down houses and killing a disputable number of villagers during a raid.

The Nigerian Army has confirmed that its ongoing onslaughts on some communities in Benue State are a direct result of gunmen who killed 11 soldiers attached to Operation Whirl Stroke in the Konshisha Local Government Area.
The army on Friday appealed to the residents of the state to volunteer information that would lead to the arrest of the perpetrators of the act.

The Director, Army Public Relations, Brig Gen Mohammed Yerima, said in a release that the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Ibrahim Attahiru, has directed the commanders on the ground to ensure “sustained efforts in order to fish out and deal decisively with them..

“Nigerian Army troops operating in Benue State came under attack while on routine operational task. The troops comprising one officer and 10 soldiers were initially declared missing which prompted the deployment of a joint search and rescue team comprising troops and personnel of Operation Whirl Stroke.

“The COAS has therefore directed commanders on the ground to ensure sustained efforts in order to fish out and deal decisively with the bad elements

SaharaReporters gathered from eyewitnesses that the aircraft flew at low level as they released gunfire, forcing residents to run in different directions as the deafening bombardments continued on Tuesday.

“The aircraft flew as low as 5 to 10 metres above the roof level with a wicked soldier who was shooting randomly and emptying a lot of magazines in motion,” a witness had stated.
“It all started this morning, when Nigerian military attacked the people of Bonta in Shangev Tiev, Konshisha LGA using aircraft. This unexpected, attack made everyone to run out of the villages and look for a secured place to lay low,” another resident had said.

When ISWAP starts killing this same soldiers in the North East, they will start crying about not getting enough weapons or make dem wail say dem never chop food.

Look at them unleashing hell on armless civilians. Burning their properties and killing them. Is this the way to search for people who killed soldiers in this year 2021.

There is absolutely no difference between the Nigerian army, Fulanis heardsmen and ISWAP. They are all known for sorrow, tears and blood.

Look at what these incompetents animals saying, how can you be killing innocent unarmed and unharmful people on the quest to get armed unknown gunmen or whatever you may call them. This is clear foolishness and wickedness combined with hatred.

With all the resources at its disposal, is it too much to ask the military to collaborate with other security agencies, investigate and fish out the criminals instead of killing innocent civilians ? Burning down villages and killing innocent people is a relic of stone age warfare and I'm very ashamed of the useless soldiers who carried out that carnage, I curse the bastard commander who gave the order. Useless people who run at the sight of Boko Haram and Fulani terrorists yet grow muscles at the sight of unarmed civilians. Föolish soldiers

If a constituted authority such as the army with overpaid so-called intelligent personals cannot even fathom who were the gunmen, a person wonders how the peasants are expected to fish out gunman who may have come from Republic of Niger. It is on record that most of the bandits and gunmen are imports from Republics of Niger, Mail and even Chad.

Any idiotic attempt by Nigerian army to massacre innocent people of Konshisha Local Government Area in Benue State will lead to a war. You are warned. No country has ever survived two internal wars.
