I decided to make this thread for guest who usually visit here but ain't registered members yet.

2014 down period
On June 22, 2014, following a successful
hacking attempt, Nairaland went offline briefly. [5] The hackers were able to gain access to, and wipe the contents of, the website's host server and backup. Three days later, it was back online after some data had been recovered from a remote backup. However, user posts and registration data on or after January 10, 2014 was lost. Users with lost accounts were required to re-register. [6]
Notes
1. ^ Nairaland can be viewed without an account but registration is required to post, comment or like.
2. Nairaland do not allow multiple posts from their registered users like 3 to 5 posts within a space of 5 minutes in order to avoid spamming.

How to join Nairaland
1. make sure you have a valid email
2. login to nairaland.com and select join
3. submit you email in the space provide.
4. a link will be sent to your email. Go to your email and open the link to complete registration.
5. you will have to provide a password and moniker (more like the name you want to be referred to) .
