and yet the world still survives and moves on.

A genealogical study of Adam (the first human being) from Genesis to the new testament era, to the present day suggests that this world is thousands of years old, not billions as is commonly thought by big bang theorists, etc.

GOD very mercifully reveals much, including where we came from, everything thereafter, and how it will all end! What GOD starts well, He finishes well - the fall/disobedience of man notwithstanding.

"The earth is violently broken, The earth is split open, The earth is shaken exceedingly. The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, And shall totter like a hut; Its transgression shall be heavy upon it, And it will fall, and not rise again." -Isaiah 24:19-20

Man is not the Owner of the world and neither did he start it.

Thus, the same way this world started and man did not know when it started or it would start, so also shall it end and man would still not know when it shall end.

The world and the earth doesn't convey the same meaning in the Bible!

Earth according to God's word is the planet: Sea, Trees, Animals, Humans and all other creatures.

World means rebellious humans knowingly or unknowingly ruining the planet by their lifestyle either through negligence, misinformation or greed.

So whenever God's word talks about the end of the world you will always find a clue to help the reader discern that there will be survivors who will continue to inhabit the planet because the purpose for which the maker create this planet is for life to continue on it!

You guys use the word "WORLD" whereas you're discussing the planet "EARTH". Well, I think some dictionaries permit that.

First off.
Life didn't start 4 billion years ago on earth. So try to differentiate the age of the earth from the age of life on earth.

Life on earth is very likely to disappear before the earth itself gets destroyed (by an asteroid or orther spacial accidents).
But one thing I believe that will exist for many more billions of years is the Universe.
If the Universe can be compared to the human body, the earth is a cell in this body.
