Obey Traffic Rules And Limit Your Speed, AMORAN Urges Commercial Riders In Ogun by Vibrant007(m): 7:44am On Apr 12, 2021 |
The Articulate Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (AMORAN) under the leadership of Otunba Nurudeen Aina Alowonle has urged commercial motorcyclists to always obey traffic rules and stop racing out of control in order to avoid accidents. The call was made by the Publicity Secretary of the Union, Otunba Taofeek Sokoya, who stressed that overspeeding and disobeying traffic rules are two major causes of road accidents. He revealed that the Union is not at peace with losing her members to road accidents. His words "We wish to urge our members and all commercial motorcyclists in Ogun State to take precautions, obey traffic rules and be on the speed limit while conveying passengers to their various destinations." "By so doing, the rate at which fatal road accidents occur would be reduced. One other thing is wrongful overtaking. Commercial riders should know when, where, how and why to overtake. It should not be due to hastiness and impatience". "Very soon, our union will map out ways to once again sensitize commercial riders on the dangers of wrongful overtaking, overspeeding and disobeying traffic rules", Sokoya said. He added that the commercial riders must ensure they have their helmets on and avoid taking alcoholic drinks while at work.
