The governors of the South-East region of Nigeria have agreed upon and announced the establishment of a joint security outfit fort ue region; EBUBEAGU.

In attendance were governors of Anambra, Abia, Ebonyi, Imo and Enugu states, Navy and Air Force Commanders, the Inspector-General of Police, Ohanaeze Ndigbo and other stakeholders.

The security meeting comes days after gunmen attacked correctional facilities in Owerri, freeing 1,884 inmates. The Imo State Police Command was also attacked by the gunmen who set several vehicles ablaze the same day.
