Men of the Ogun state police command have arrested a 32-year-old man, Mutiu Olaonipekun, a driver at Parkway Investment, a subsidiary of C_WAY Foods and Beverages Company Ota, for allegedly diverting goods worth #4.5 million belonging to the company. The suspect was arrested following a complaint lodged at the Onipanu divisional headquarters by the company that the driver was given a truck loaded with the company's goods on March 15 to deliver somewhere in Isolo Lagos. It was alleged that the driver absconded with the truck as well as the goods and his whereabouts was unknown. A statement released by DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, spokesperson of the state police command, states that upon the report, the DPO Onipanu division, CSP Bamidele Job, detailed his detectives to unravel the mystery behind the sudden disappearance of the driver and the goods. Oyeyemi said after weeks of painstaking investigation, the empty truck was recovered at Ewupe area of ota. Further investigation revealed that the goods was trans loaded into another vehicle before taken to the receiver. ''The receiver of the stolen goods, Kayode Afolabi was there and then traced and he was subsequently arrested . Abimbola added that the state commissioner of police cp Edward Awolowo Ajogun has directed that the suspects be thoroughly investigated and charged to court as soon as possible. Leaders should lead by example and the followers should follow. Today i have seen Patriotic citizens who obeyed their leaders. I don't blame them, infact both of them should be rewarded handsomely by the FG, for humbly following their leaders footstep and doing exactly what their country leaders is known for. Diverting of public fun for personal use, stealing and looting is the order of the day. So this guys are innocent, they were only trying to follow their leaders footstep. So if you want to arrest anyone, arrest their leaders and free this innocent men |
