Nigeria with a population of over 200 million people is undoubtedly blessed with an abundance of talent and brilliance, from music and education to business and sport, we would be looking at a list of 5 famous Nigerians who’ve made Nigeria proud on the international scene this year. Burna Boy Nigerian Afrobeat star, Burna Boy, known to be the most recent Nigerian who has made the country proud after winning the Best Global Music Album category at the 63rd Grammy Awards. Burna Boy, whose real name is Damini Ogulu, was a nominee for a second consecutive year and won with his Twice As Tall album. The 29-year-old beat four others including the Malian band, Tinariwen Emmanuella Samuel Child comedian and actor, Emmanuella Samuel joins the league of Nigerians who made her country proud after emerging winner of the “Favourite African Social Media Star” category at the Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards 2021. Emmanuella is Nigeria's biggest child YouTuber and comedian, starring in Mark Angel’s comedy skits with over six million subscribers watching. Wizkid Popular Nigerian musician, Ayo Balogun AKA Wizkid, has made the country proud after bagging his first Grammy awards in the 63rd edition of the global awards. Wizkid bagged the award for the Best Music Video that featured Beyonce’s daughter Blue Ivy Carter and Saint JHN in Brown Skin Girl. Ngozi Okonjo -Iweala Ngozi Okonjo- Iweala is a Nigerian- American economist and international development expert who recently achieved a huge feat of being the first African and woman to head the World Trade Organization since its creation. The former finance minister is also the only finance minister to serve under two Nigerian presidents. Davido Multi-award-winning singer, David Adeleke, popular as Davido, made his international debut appearance into the movie industry, with a cameo appearance in the sequel to the Hollywood comedy classic, Coming to America.
