''I was sitted this evening going through the happenings in the country online when a young boy approached me,he wasn't an almajiri but an Igbo boy who speaks Igbo language fluently..
Young guy: Good evening sir(in Igbo language)
Me: Evening,kedu?
Young guy: odimma.
Young guy: stamerring and shaking in fears,I no wan ask you for money,I am a tiler but no work since,my mum died as she wan born me,and my papa no dey see,na person wey Pity me give me this garri but I no get sugar or groundnut to take chop am..
I wanted to refuse, perhaps he might have forged all these but then I thought to myself, what if it wasn't forged? What if I was in the little boy's case,what if I was his only hope?what if he is an angel in disguise?
If there's one principle I believe in the Bible, it is the principle of giving,Giving even from the little without listening to the small voice that always has a ton of reasons why we shouldn't help,as I stretched forth my hands to the boy,he was dumfounded,that expression that says that today will be better than yesterday.
Living in Nigeria has given me a deep insight of the sufferings of the people,whether you believe it or not,people are suffering..
I'm not writing this to publicize the little thing I did or to receive praises or thanks but to let us know that given to the poor around us is the greatest form of giving (I don't care what any preacher told you) and that poor man today can be your helper tomorrow..
