OHAKIM HAS NO HAND IN THE SUSPENSION OF MINISTER FOR INTERIOR

The Governor of Imo state, Dr. Ikedi Ohakim has washed his hands off
the remote or direct causes that led the Presidency to suspend the
former Minister for Interior, Captain Emmanuel Iheanacho.

In a release signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr.
Henry Ekpe, he dismissed the allegation making the rounds that Gov
Ohakim impressed it on the Presidency to sack the Minister.

“It is nothing but a malicious imagination by the opposition to
allege that Governor Ikedi Ohakim has a hand in the sack of Captain
Iheanacho as the Minister for Interior,” the release said.
It went on to say that Governor Ikedi Ohakim had remained a supporter
of the Minister, and even contributed in facilitating his appointment,
and therefore cannot be a part in causing his sack.

“Rumour mongers should be careful in peddling false stories. Gov
Ohakim has no hand in the Minister’s sack and therefore wicked for any
person or group to rope in the Governor in Iheanacho’s political
problems,” the statement said.

Mr. Ekpe disclosed that the statement which announced the suspension
of former Minister was clear, and therefore has nothing to do with Gov
Ohakim.

“The former Minister was said to have been suspended as a result of
number of lapses in the political leadership of his former Ministry,
traceable to his personal and official conduct.”
Captain Emmanuel Iheanacho who was the minister for interior, on his appointment to the headship of the ministry of interior therefore broke the jinx of a no-go area for the Ibos. A shipping expert and one of the nation’s leading lights in the maritime and downstream oil business, Ihenacho however, seems to be telling everyone, through his actions in the ministry that he is a man of many parts; a seeming jack of all trade and a perhaps a master of none. This is due to his incapacity in the sector which he handles.Captain Emmanuel Ihenacho was suspended by President Goodluck Jonathan due to this lack of professionalism in carrying out his duties.
Beyond professional competence which he claims to portray, however, is the concept of personal arrogance the Captain Ihenacho has brought to his job as a minister of the Republic. The minister is respected and fearedHis gets to the office as early as eight o’clock in the morning and the earliest closing time is eleven hours later. And the job does not end there. He takes files he could not finish treating home so that the job does not suffer.
Ekechi, his special adviser, himself a successful entrepreneur and a top marketing and media practitioner, says what baffles him is the lack of passion and energy with which Captain Ihenacho carries out his assignment. “I thought I was a hard worker until this experience with this Minister. I am always running to catch up with his pace. He is so lazy in his duties and has converted me to a workaholic”…

“His suspension was announced by the SA Media to the President, so,
when did Gov Ikedi Ohakim begin to give instructions to the Presidency
on which Minister to suspend,” he asked.

The release appealed to Imo citizens to avoid rumours and insinuations
that are baseless and lack foundation.
