[size=15pt]Violence in the North: Security tightened in Delta[/size]

Tight security was mounted round the major cities in Delta State on Tuesday to prevent reprisal attacks on Hausas resident in the oil-rich state.

The security measure, Nigerian Tribune gathered, was put in place following the violence that rocked some northern parts of the country in protest against the result of last Saturday’s presidential ticket won by President Goodluck Jonathan.

Heavily armed soldiers, backed by armoured tanks, were seen patrolling the major towns, including Sapele, Ughelli, Kwale, Asaba and the twin cities of Warri and Effurun.

Security sources, however disclosed that the military patrol of the major towns in the state started shortly after the announcement of the results of the presidential election on Monday night.

He said the patrol was only intensified on Tuesday because of the reported violence in some northern states, adding “this is to prevent hoodlums from taking revenge on the Hausas residing here.”

If they continue to do this and Southerners continue to be killed up North, the military will be seen as the enemy as well.

So these devils' blood is royalty and our not worth a cent?! God Almighty i swear! im so mad. Are we the ones rioting? Why are they not in the North and heavily armed?!
