Imagine for a minute that you are a trained soldier.
A Lieutenant.
You have a wife and two kids.
Now, imagine that during the quarterly rotation, you were sent to Bornu to fight insurgence (Boko Haram)
On this fateful day, as you were moving with your platoon.
There was an ambush.
Gunfire ensued.
You shot with all you've got.
You know that you have a slim chance of surviving the attack.
As you were running out of ammo, you called John, your buddy, for a fresh supply.
No response.
You glanced and saw John's head split into two halves.
By your left are Barry, his torso turn and one of his arms lying 10 ft away.
With nothing to fight with, you made a run for it and took a deep dive into the abandoned crater while bullets were getting fired at you.
You passed out
When you woke, you saw yourself in the hospital.
The doctor came in.
"Officer, you are awake, we did emergency surgery. We had to amputate you"
We are sorry.
You then asked.
'What of my teammates ?"
"Well, you lost 18 men and 2 survivors", the doctor replied. "You and Barry.
Barry is still in intensive care."
Now, 3 months later, at the defense headquarters.
Your commanding officer, General Gida told you. "You are back, lieutenant "
"Good news!
We rounded up all the terrorists that attacked your platoon after in another battle confrontation."
They are now in rehabilitation centers.
"Can I see them?" you asked
'Sure!'
You got wheeled to the center.
They opened the door.
And yes.
'There they are!'
Across the hall, Young men in white flowing gowns were eating fried and Jollof rice with multiple chicken parts.
Some were drinking wine.
Laughter filled the air.
Having a ball.
You were told they will soon be taken abroad on scholarship.
Government-sponsored.
As you were getting back to the general's office.
Just outside the defense headquarters gate, you saw the wives of your team, now widowed, as they agitate with high voices and placards.
"We have been abandoned!"
"Pay us our husband's benefits!"
"We are hungry"
Just imagine all that.

Whao! What a time to be alive seeing the so called unknown BH terrorists and their sponsors, well wishers and supporters overtly revealing themselves for all to see

Imagine these people advocating for a well known and hardened terrorists to become the president. They have given Nigeria a terrorist supporter as president anyway.Daily Trust have joined the league.

It is a satiric piece. You would have realised that if you had read beyond the headline.

Not all Nigerias
Iamgrey5:
Nigerians says he should resign

It has a lot to do with National interest and cohesion

Nigeria is a multi religious society and anyone with an extremist religious view should not hold an important or sensitive national position for the sake of fairness.

This has nothing to do with anti north or anti muslim campaign like Patami supporters are framing it

After all, Buhari can always find another Northern muslim to head the Ministry, if necessary.

Civil society organizations and well meaning Nigerians should intensify more pressure and efforts to chase Pantami out of office in the interest of Nigerian state

Dss did not do a ground-touch check on Pantami.
Which is a big flaw.

You got it wrong. The article is actually a satire, complete with the 4 elements:
-- Exaggeration
-- Incongruity
-- Reversal and
-- Parody.

Seniorwriter:

Ofcourse....the writeup is a subtle way to downplay the subject matter on if patami should resign or be sacked....we are not in a sane clime reason this news article can boldly sway away from saying it from the sane angle which is for justice to prevail on this issue irrespective of how many times in the past such had been swept under the carpet.
In sane climes if you are indicted with FACTS as a government official or office holder you either resign honorably or get sacked

You don't right(write) a wrong to be right.

It's quite astonishing the number of people that are mentally lazy and yet they are the ones that will be screaming out their lungs out of sheer ignorance. No wonder Nigeria keep getting the kind of leaders we get.

Just imagine how many people condemning and lambasting article just because they have biased with DailyTrust when they didn't even attempt reading just up to the second paragraph.

The stupid South, you see how the Northerners & their media( Daily Trust) are fighting for for their own (Pantami). But, when it comes to a Southerner, all the media apparatus in the South will be unleashed to make sure he is frustrated out of office. For example Walter Onnoghen and kemi adeosun.
is it not the way they where defending boko haram?
and what was the end result?
more boko haram destruction!

is t not the way they where defending fulani herdsmen?
what is the resultant effect?
gradual disintegration into rustling, kidnapping, killing, raping, abductions and chaos!

so what do you think is the end game of the north defending a person like patani?

I don't what to even imagine self?

It's just saying this is Nigeria, and based on the foundation and normality of Nigeria (as it has become), pata-whatever will remain in office.

And that's the truth. He, CCT chairman, Gandolar, etc won't face consequences for their actions. Because This is Nigeria. It's not something to be proud of or allow to stand/continue, but it's also not something that will change in any generation currently alive.

Expect change from the (great)-great-grandchildren of "indomie generation". Not while any of us here will be alive.

The question then is; where will the rest of the world be, in terms of development? undecided
