Hydundai And KIA To Set Up Assembly Plants In Ghana by Smatkomo: 11:06am On Apr 23, 2021
Just a few days after Twitter announced that its headquarter in Africa will be based in Ghana, automobile giants, Hyundai and KIA have also revealed their plan to establish their assembly plant in the same country which will now join Toyota-Suzuki, Nissan, Kantanka, Volkswagen & Sinotruck which already have plants in Ghana.

Alan Kyerematen, Ghana’s Minister for Trade and Industry, made the revelation on his official Twitter page on Thursday, noting that the plants will be ready by the end of 2022.
The tweet read: “Pleased to announce that Hyundai & KIA are set to establish assembly plants in Ghana by the end of 2022 to join Toyota-Suzuki, Nissan, Kantanka, Volkswagen & Sinotruck. The Ghana Auto Development program = 3,600 assemblies & 6,600 manufacturing parts jobs in Ghana.

“The local assembly of vehicles, 3,600 direct and indirect jobs would be created in Ghana, and the addition of components and parts manufacturing will also add about 6,600 direct and indirect jobs.”

The move is a product of the Ghana Automotive Development Programme orchestrated by the Ghanaian Government in partnership with some players in the industry, a development Kyerematen noted will see other automobile firms setting up assembly plants in the country.
Just as Nigerians reacted when Twitter over Nigeria for their Africa location base, there has also been another reaction to the decision made by the automobile industry.

Hyundai, KIA to establish assembly plants in Ghana.

This unpatriotic citizens again.
