You guys should not be surprised if it is later revealed that the American secretary of state was stunned beyond belief when Buhari asked him to relocate the AFRICOM headquarters from Germany to Africa. If you remember very well, Obasanjo and Mbeki them kicked very hard against the formation of that command. Infact, part of the reasons why the headquarters was sited outside Africa was because of the grand opposition to the project by sitting African Heads of Government at that period.
Since then, AFRICOM has been operating from Germany while getting involved in messy projects within the continent like the toppling of Muammar Gadaffi and eventual destruction of Libya.The support Buhari is giving to AFRICOM today reminds one of the same kind of support Jonathan gave to the western forces when they wanted to invade Libya. Libya invasion happened, Gadaffi was killed but Africa is paying the price today.

Infact, one of the main reasons for voting out the same Jonathan from Office was insecurity. Yet insecurity in the North East only got worse after the destabilization of Libya and the proliferation of Gadaffis arms across the Sahel The group that killed Idris Derby were trained in the same western destabilized Libya! The former Malian government was toppled because of its poor handling of the insurgency in the northern parts of the country. An insurgency that got worse with the fact that the whole Sahel is awash with Libyan arms. Libya under Gadaffi used to have a reasonable military presence in CAR. That stopped after Gadaffis death. CAR is in turmoil today and the Russians are already physically present with their troops. It's only a matter of time before the western powers start proxy wars in the continent with Russia and china. How about the thousands of Africans enslaved in Libya and the ones that died crossing the mediterranean, packaged by Libyan gangstas who were not there under Gadaffi before AFRICOM and NATO toppled that government and destroyed that country?

Essentially, the toppling of Gadaffi by NATO, helped by the same AFRICOM has led to nothing but violence and sorrow for neighboring African countries within the Sahel regions..

Shame, shame, shame! All the insecurity was self inflicted. When you allow the killing of innocent people to become a routine, definitely a resistance will build up. Fulani terrorists having been running amok with the tacit support of the government, you don't expect those been slaughtered to watch on like sheep until they're decimated. As for your fulani brothers, you can always call them to other and where they refuse to heed to your call, you send forces after them. However, when you secretly admire what they are doing but openly pretend not to, the end result is the situation currently rocking Nigeria. They didn't expect what they saw hence the crying for external intervention.
It is easier, cheaper, better and safer to solve problems within yourselves than inviting external interventions because though such interventions may help, they may also introduce a new dimension to the problems because of their own interests.
