What Has Christian Association Of Nigeria(can)been Turned Into?* by niroreporters: 7:22am On May 03, 2021
*WHAT HAS CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA(CAN)BEEN TURNED INTO?*

Is the Christian Association of Nigeria(CAN)a political group or an appendage of a political party?

Is it a propaganda or image laundering machinery of the PDP government in Akwa Ibom State?

It is cool if CAN is now an appendage of the party in power, but the fathers of faith can't be allowed to twist, manipulate or suppress facts in their bid to defend the indefensible ineptitude and poor performance of the state government. After all, by their calling, they are expected to tell the truth, preach the truth and defend the truth at all times.

This is the first time that a vote of confidence is passed on a government based on uncompleted projects and sadly,it's being done by a body populated by fathers of faith.

No.24 on the list of achievements of Governor Udom Emmanuel highlighted by CAN is ridiculous and embarrassing.

No. 27 exists on the paper.

No.22 is neither here no there.

No.15 is inexplicable. Wike of Rivers state has completed three flyovers so far and still counting.

No. 5 is an embarrassment to right thinking Akwa Ibomites.

No. 26 can't be counted as an achievement of the government.

No. 2 is a misplacement of priority and is uncompleted.

No. 13 is the real monument and it's only the exterior that seems to have been completed

Now can No.14 be as a major achievement of the government?.CAN can do more than that.

No. 16 is uncompleted and who knows if it'll ever be complete.

No. 7 is nothing to write home about and according to the Governor, it's so because of "Mbiam" invoked on it by some local chiefs.

No. 25 is not expressing anything and means nothing

No. 23 is uncompleted and who knows if it'll ever be completed.

No. 1.....Who owns the aircrafts?

No. 4 is uncompleted and may not be completed before the end of the administration.

No. 6...Is it the paper approval for the construction of the seaport that should be celebrated or the successful execution and commissioning of the seaport?

No. 18 is uncompleted and may not be completed before the end of the administration.

With the above undisputed record of failed/uncompleted/abandoned projects,it's only fair to say that this government has failed irredeemably and no vote of confidence can be passed on the Governor.

In times like this, organisations like CAN were expected to be non partisan and be able to speak truth to power. But, it has been turned into an appendage of the ruling party in the state. It is very embarrassing, disgusting and disappointing to some of us who are members of the body of Christ.

CAN, Akwa-Ibom has allowed politicians to hijack them. Majority of these Bishops are not even born-again. We have encountered many of them. These people setup churches as a means to earn a living. Shame on CAN, Akwa-Ibom chapter.
