A social media post from an account linked to the Chinese Communist Party has sparked controversy for appearing to mock India over its coronavirus crisis.

The post on Chinese site Weibo showed an image of a rocket launch in China alongside a photo of the bodies of Covid victims being cremated in India.

Text with it read: "Lighting a fire in China VS lighting a fire in India."

The post, which appeared on Saturday afternoon, has since been deleted.

It was reportedly published by an account belonging to an official Chinese law enforcement agency - the Communist Party's Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission - which has millions of followers on Weibo, a popular microblogging site in the country.

Users responding to the post, which was later shared using screenshots of the original, wrote that it was "inappropriate" and that China "should express sympathy for India".

Hu Xijin, the editor-in-chief of China's Global Times media outlet, wrote: "Hold high the banner of humanitarianism at this time, show sympathy for India, and firmly place Chinese society on a moral high ground."

The Weibo post appeared a day after Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a message of condolence to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the country's deepening Covid-19 crisis.

Mr Xi said China was willing to enhance co-operation with India and provide any additional help where needed.

India is struggling to cope with a devastating second wave of coronavirus, with hospitals battling to treat patients amid a chronic shortage of beds and medical oxygen.

On Sunday, India recorded a daily coronavirus death toll of 3,689 - the highest since the pandemic began.

It came a day after the country became the first to record more than 400,000 new cases within a 24-hour period.

Indian news has been very common in China since 2016 when India and China confronted in Doklam and Indian economy started to grow faster.

Chinese hate America so they put such cartoons for them. Now, they know of India, many of them call India a poor version of America and China's other enemy. So, they now make stupid things on India too.

It's Africa which has no relevance in world news in any country including India itself.

What is proud thing here lol? Chinese and Indians apply to US and EU visas for studying and migrating. African nations are most backward in world and apply fór visas to China and India.

Remains a fact that there is not as much gap China and India in wages that Indian would choose to migrate to China. Hence, they don't apply for Chinese visas. He puts same money and effort within India to study and earn same amount.

Also, Indians don't give visa to Pakistanis (because of enmity) but do it to Nigerian students. It doesn't change fact that Nigeria is more backward than Pakistan.

Size of penis is anyway isn't a fetish in China. Their standards are different. East Asians are more racist people in world and don't allow other races to take citizenship easily unlike US and Europe do.

How naive you are?

This is called public relations (PR) or simply propaganda. China, Russia and India portray themselves as saviour of African countries so lot of photoshoot is done for building positive image. Same does not happen when Indians, Chinese, Russians, Japanese or Westerners visit each other countries.

Because people of West, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Indian countries don't give a damn what other country thinks about them unlike Africans who are hungry of foreign approval.
Indians further anyway are businessmen who visit to buy Chinese properties and companies unlike Africans who are just for studies.

Which world you are living in? This is called relevance.
US and China make most impact on world. So, everyone knows about or wants to know about them. Second tier powers like India, France, UK, Japan and Brazil are major powers and make important changes also. So, world knows about them but not as much as US and China.

Since Indian economy and business are yet expanding, Indian movies & serials are becoming more common on world, Indians' incomes are growing fast and poverty declining, infrastructure and roads are improving, Indians are filing new patents and scientific discoveries every year, sending rockets to moon and mars, Indian military is expanding making a tonne of new missiles and different weapons every year. Over it, India is even giving aid and credit line to Africa.

You guys are just craving for attention by calling yourselves superior to some race (funny people you are really). Meanwhile Indians have always been climbing ladder without caring about slangs.
