It seems that the promoters have been able to convince us that fighting is great and that it is a sport. But, how did we get convinced, and everyone in the world seems very fine with it? Even the government doesn't mind. Well, that is by design! Fighting as I understood it as a child was only happening when two people get into an argument and they fight. Any right-thinking adult would discourage this behavior. Sometimes we would even get spanked for fighting, just for good measure. But in boxing, you don't need to be angry, you just fight. Here they say that they love the "sport." In truth, the promoters have only succeeded in selling us this “sport” because of the promised incentive. Have you ever wondered why both fighters, regardless of whether they win or lose, get paid? Sometimes, losers even get paid more! Many people have taken up this “sport” all over the world. Does it make it okay? They claim to get some sort of entertainment and satisfaction from seeing others beaten. It helps them relax. Hahaha. They study the reflexes and conclude how remarkable and inspiring they are. They claim it gives some artistic fulfillment. Of course, why won’t punching someone in the face be inspiring? You realize the target is usually the face, right? They have only succeeded in selling this “sport” because of human’s weird or should I say warp interests. Or maybe fighting is okay, so far as it’s regulated and done in a controlled environment? Let's hear your thoughts... |

You can't really include boxing in the league of "weird" sports. It is a martial art just like any other forms of martial art out there(judo, karate, taekwondo). Fighting is also a form of physical activity- an exercise when done right. You don't have to be 'angry' to get into it. Meanwhile, if you want to start talking weird sports, then the best place to look would be the "Hybrid sports"(e.g. chess boxing): https://www.google.com/url?q=https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hybrid_sport&sa=U&ved=2ahUKEwi44PW80K7wAhXQxYUKHQqMAVIQFjALegQIAxAB&usg=AOvVaw3egxbEP_HlGWsc2tuI30bI Or better still... the king of all weird sports: Buzkashi! Go grab some dead goats: https://www.google.com/url?q=https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buzkashi&sa=U&ved=2ahUKEwjitcLh0K7wAhVqzoUKHQdFCEEQFjAaegQIBBAB&usg=AOvVaw2BXwaJOUr19U6-CYDpjNzz Now, those are the real weird. |

Fighting involving targeting opponent's face and stomach just so you can knock them out is fine if done right? Okay. The argument here is intentions and not outcome and I'm looking at boxing as a sport in its own rights, not comparing to other sports. mansakhalifa: |
