|Hey Hey Hey , State Police Is A Fraud. by Curious345: 6:20pm On May 04|
State police is working in America ,Australia and Canada.
The UK has federal police though (London met)
But if you dare bring this state police thing into Nigeria ,count yourself as "finished".
If state police Comes to Kano THE HISHBA GANGS WILL DOMINATE IT.
if state police comes to Benue state THE TIV MILITIA WILL DOMINATE IT.
if state police comes to River state GOV WIKE BOYS WILL DOMINATE IT
if state police comes to LAGOS state , TINUBU AND OLUOMO BOYS WILL DOMINATE IT.
the fallout of state police in Nigeria will not be palatable .
Our democracy is still a baby in the womb.
Our judiciary has ethno-religious colours, and is immersed in corruption.
Corruption is our national anthem.
The national assembly is still an ATM cashing out monthly for doing nothing .
So let's keep the federal police working for another 120years, and then we can experiment the state police thing .

In truth, we northerners will continue to fight against any move for state policing which will make all our northern brothers jobless and poor.
Southern policing is a goldmine for us northerners so I support federal policing. Stopping crime is not important, northerners being police chiefs in all southern states makes it possible that we control their security and their lives.
We can issue a security warning that Oyo state governor shouldn't travel for two weeks because of a phantom security report and Makinde will stay inside in a Commissioner of police induced house arrest for two weeks.
We northerners are smarter than you think

The current police are staffed by angels who aren't collecting bribes all day? Didn't the federal government have to disband SARS because they hired thugs who murdered young men for sport? If there's Decentralized police it will be staffed by your neighbors who are connected to their community. This different from federal police posted anywhere and get orders from Abuja disconnected from place they're policing. Lastly to discourage foolishness just have institute more rigorous recruiting standards. State legislatures will simply need to do their jobs and regulate their behavior.
If you feel the people i your state are useless morons you should not have a state or local police force. Let the competent states just push along while you guys get your acts together. The great thing about federalism is we can have multiple governing options within the country.

At least I will know who to hold responsible in my state

Having state or local government police doesn't mean that there will be no federal and state regulations and guidelines.
Even the British know that policing is best with local support. Unfortunately, we turn everything upsidedown when we think it's to our advantage. The only reason for sending a Fulanis officer who neither speaks nor understand Efik culture to Uyo is simply to dominate the area not to police and maintain law and order.
