Following the release yesterday of 27 students of the Federal College of Forestry Mechanization, the Kaduna State Government has received enquiries as to when the students will rejoin their families.

The Kaduna State Government wishes to inform citizens that the released students are currently undergoing debriefing, medical checks, psychological evaluation and basic rehabilitation. As such they will not be released to their families today, Thursday 6th May 2021.

Efforts are on to ensure that all 27 students are in a satisfactory physical and mental state before they are handed over to their families.

The Government therefore appeals to families, friends and the general public to understand the plight of the students especially considering their difficult experience over the last seven weeks.

If the first phase of checks is as successful as anticipated, the students will rejoin their families tomorrow, Friday 7th May 2021, and the media will be notified ahead of this.

Signed

Samuel Aruwan
Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Kaduna State.

Lack Of Will To Track Kidnappers...
Why Kidnappers are having a field day in nigeria.

In this sophisticated century, its not rocket science to locate people physically in any part of this world.

Technology can track one person for days and take him out, not to talk of tracking a group of people who hold 10, 30 or 100 people ransom. All it takes is putting money in satellite and drone technology.

Within hours of any kidnapping, drones can locate the kidnappers and the victims and ground forces can be sent in to rescue them. There may be incidences of some of the victims caught in the crossfire, but once kidnappers know the Govt have drones that can locate them within hours and come after them, they will start thinking twice before embarking on their deadly mission.

The Americans quietly sent in their forces to Nigeria last year, took out all kidnappers and rescued their citizen.

Why is Nigeria playing with and allowing the lives of its citizens to be used as game on a chess board?

But in a situation where the state claim to have an idea where they might be, or not seriously tracking them, where 98% of kidnappers succeed, that is an encouragement to the kidnappers.

Saying the Govt will not negotiate with kidnappers is not enough, what is the Federal Govt doing to rescue the victims and annihilate the kidnappers?
LITTLE....

Military grade drones are available in the international market. Some can travel 100 km from the control base and stay in the air for up to 24hrs, some can also be armed with missiles or multiple machine guns that can take out specific targets. We have seen them used in Afghanistan etc and rescue, target execution mission around the world

According to information obtained via a Freedom of Information Act request, construction of the drone base in Niger cost $100 million.

Weaponised drones experts say the starting price for the technology is about $15m (£12m) per unit, with more for add-ons, on top of the training and the crews needed to pilot them, while military surveillance drones start from 30 to $40,000 to millions of dollars.

Compared to the billions of dollars stolen and mismanaged in Nigeria yearly, this is chicken change.

Nigerian can easily afford a drone base in each state with armed drones or at least surveillance drones, manned by security agents and tech experts to track kidnappers and rescue the victims.

One reason this is not happening is this....
The Government Does Not Have The Will.

All talk and no action is what we are getting from the Federal Govt.

The fight against this grave insecurity we face is fought through release of a few statements from the presidency.

We have even heard some disheartening statements come from top people in Government telling Nigerians that Kidnappers have a few rifles and bullets, that people should face and overwhelm them.. Imagine the insensitivity !!!

The primary responsibility of the Government is the securing of lives and properties of the citizens.

Pre 2015 till date, Nigerians have not faced the kind of face paced insecurity, daily killings and kidnappings that we see daily now.

The lack of empathy and body language from the top is most discouraging.

Nigerians have been left to do whatever it takes to secure themselves.

For how long?

We never bargained for this.
Sad Country.

Most times I feel like being a Nigerian as a human being is not just right and fair....

Because first of all, life itself is not fair (to whites and blacks etc) ... then secondly, we are Africans from the "Dark continent" as the white man once coined....

then here comes the vinegar, the icy on the cake... thirdly, we are NIGERIANS....!!! NIGERIANS!!!!

GOD Y..... Its just too difficult most times... now it's just suffocating....

cool

While undergoing rehabilitation, the plans and intention of the government to attack and kill the bandits even if it meant some students dying in the process should be made known to the student.

After all, the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, on Thursday said when 29 students of the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka, Kaduna State, were abducted, the plan was to attack and kill the bandits even if it meant some students would die in the process.
