Good! They are all useless mushroom political parties that are fouling the political space by being ready made surrogates for the gladiator parties.

Do you know how the word Idiot came into existence?

The acient Greek who started Democracy called Idiots group of people who give reasons and excuses not to participate in the politics that brought those that govern them into power living the vaccum to be filled with people without their interest in power and governance to determine their future

The 4th alteration states;

"Breach of any of the requirements for registration as a political
party.

"Failure to win at least 25% of the votes cast in one State of the
Federation in a Presidential election or 25% of the votes cast in one Local Government Area of a State in a Governorship election.

"Failure to win at least one ward in a Chairmanship election, one

"In addition, they were also assessed on the basis of their

Too much political parties is a disease, we only need two strong party in Nigeria.

Two parties system is two small for a nation like NIGERIA.

We need like Four.

In a situation where the two parties are as useless as PDP and APC where else would the people turn to.

As we can see now there is no difference between the two political parties we have presently.
Two more will give us the opportunity to bypass the two parties of thieves we have.

They should also deregister APC & PDP for these two reasons:

APC for rigging all the elections they have won, and

PDP for crying about all the elections they have lost. grin grin

Ndigbo needs to form a Pro-Biafran party that is capable of winning all the Governorship, National Assembly and State House Assembly seats in the entire Igbo land.

This way we can Legally demand for a separate country at the Legislative floor.
Nigeria is a sovereign Nation and as such US, UK UN and the likes cannot enforce referendum on it's territory.

Whether or not sessession clause is in the Nigerian constitution, once we come out in one voice and in once spirit and demand for Bifara it will be granted with immediate alacrity.

Under Nigerian law, parties must be national. Regional, ethnic and religious parties are illegal.

I think

1) we should have maximum of two political parties in Nigeria

2) there should be a law that makes provision for rotational presidency. presidency should be rotated among the six geopolitical zones of the country.

3) when it is the turn of a particular zone to produce a president all political parties must be mandated by law to field candidates only from that geopolitical zone. No party should be allowed to field candidate from any other zone other than the zone whose turn it is to produce a president.

4) the law should be amended to make provision for a single non-renewable tenure of SIX YEARS for president and governors.

5) After six years in office, the incumbent presidentt must not be allowed to contest for president again until it's the turn of his zone to produce a president again (that's if his zone choose him again to contest as a president)

6) in the event of the death of a president or if a president is permanently incapacitated due to illness or if he is impeached from office the person who should act as a president should be the incumbent governor of the state where the president come from instead of the vice president. This is to ensure that no geopolitical zone feel cheated because they could not complete their tenure due to death, incapacitation or impeachment of the president who came from their zone.

My suggestion:

Any newly registered party should be qualified to contest ONLY legislative elections at federal and state levels.

Only parties whose candidate(s) won seats in the State Assembly should be eligible to contest for governorship election and only parties whose candidate(s) won seats in the National Assembly should be eligible to contest for presidential election.

In this way,
- parties will be encouraged to work hard to build from grassroots and grow
- parties will make effort to discourage defections by not selling its nomination forms to highest bidding 'internally displaced politicians' who are looking for platforms to run for elections.
- Above all, it will reduce the number of parties on the presidential and governorship ballot paper.
I agree with your submission.
