OPINION:

There seems to be a lot not known to the public on the over 100% increase in petrol consumption of the Nation in just over one year.

Having read an article from the Vanguard on DPR stating the consumption of petrol as at February 2020 pegged at 38.2m litres of petrol daily and an article that made front page pegging consumption at 93m litres in 2021 .

2020 Article:
https://www.vanguardngr.com/2020/02/nigeria-consumes-38-2m-litres-of-petrol-daily-dpr/

2021 Article:
https://businessday.ng/five-things/article/five-things-to-know-to-start-your-day-32/

When we consider the basic realities of life in Nigeria today, one begins to doubt if the figures are made up or correct in anyway.

- Minimum wage of N30,000/month or 1000/day which equals only 179litres/mth or 5.9litres of fuel/day

- Unemployment at 33% : NBS statistics
https://businessday.ng/news/article/nigerias-33-record-unemployment-leaves-more-youths-desperate/

- 40% below poverty line:
https://www.aljazeera.com/economy/2020/5/4/forty-percent-of-nigerians-live-below-the-poverty-line-report

- Adaptation to tecnology: Organizations /homes make use of zoom calls, mobile phones, inverters, more fuel efficient vehicles, alongside drastic cost cutting being employed to should not warrant over 100% increase in daily fuel consumption.

- increase in cost of vehicles: it's not longer news inflation on cost of vehicles has gone over 50%, and exchange rate beyond norm which has left the affordability of vehicles beyond the reach of most Nigerians, which directly affects daily consumption of petrol.

The article claimed Nigeria consumes 77% of Africa daily consumption of petrol pegged at 120m litres. One begins to wonder how that is possible.

According to worldometer, African population was as at 2020: 1,340,598,147, how then does a country with a population of 210m approx being 16% approx consume 77% of Africa daily consumption.

https://www.worldometers.info/world-population/

In as much as the Government should know better, but the current realities may not align to over 100% increase in daily fuel consumption except sharp practises have been employed to increase figures.

Fela Kuti warned Nigerians about the mannequin that only knows how to loot that truncated the second republic with Abacha,Babaganida on the basis of corruption, only for them to rape the CBN.

He used the same scam in 2015 to continue were he left off in 1983.

We consume more fuel in 2015 than this inflation year. Likewise more light this year than 2015 where we hardly see light.
In 2015 nigeria consume less than 28million litres of fuel.

Say no to fraud!!!

How do we get rid of NNPC, when it is filled with northerners?
Even Boko Haram terrorists we could not get rid of, as Buhari said any attack against them is an attack on the north

More corruption because the unclearified excess crude oil allegedly consumed is more source of subsidy payment wherein they have continued to rip Nigeria off.The only honest aspect of the Buhari's govt is the frankness of its dishonesty.

They are preparing the landing for Dangote.
Once he starts selling fuel through his refinery, the almost 50million dubious litres payment would go to him for supplying bogus litres to non existent consumers.
