Insecurity: Act Like A Commander-in-chief, NBM Urges Buhari by Metrix147: 8:36am On May 12, 2021
of Africa (NBM) Worldwide has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to live up to his responsibilities as Commander-in-Chief and bring to an end incessant killings and abductions of innocent Nigerians and the escalating insecurity in the country.

The NBM Worldwide while condemning the escalating insecurity across the country said the challenge is now evident in all parts of the country, including the Northeast where the military remains bogged down trying to suppress Boko Haram insurgency, Northwest where cases of killing and mass abduction of school pupils are reported daily and North Central geopolitical zone where it says mindless banditry, killing, and abduction, among other unsavoury developments, are taking place.

In a statement signed by Mr. Oluwatosin Dixon, Public Relations Officer of the Movement, it insisted that no part of the country is spared of instability.

The statement partly reads, "More alarming in recent times is the surge of attacks on security personnel in the Southeast; killing of uniformed officers, attack and burning of police formations, prison breaks, etc, all of which presents a dismal picture of a seriously haemorrhaging, broken and unstable polity.

"Attacks on police stations, particularly in Imo, Rivers, Ebonyi, Abia, Anambra, and Akwa Ibom states, where no less than twenty-nine (29) police officers lost their lives between January 8 to May 7, 2021, with unspecified number of others wounded, according to reports, daily assail our ears and eyes.

"This is totally unacceptable in a society that wishes to maintain law and order; for who maintains law and order if police officers are routinely maimed or murdered in the course of their duty? Who will take charge when those saddled with the task of protecting the people are killed indiscriminately? Something has to be done immediately.

"We seriously condemn the barbaric act of the killing of seven (7) police officers on the night of May 7, 2021, by unknown gunmen in Rivers state, during which one of them was beheaded.

"We call on the President and the acting Inspector General of Police to quickly look into and adopt strategies to protect the police as they go about their lawful duties.

"In the Southwest, farmer-herder clashes and wanton incidents of daily abductions by suspected Fulani bandits masquerading as herders, have increased secessionist agitations , same as in the Southeast geographical zone.

"In the South-South, daily reported cases of abduction, attacks by Fulani bandits/herdsmen, and now the killing of government security forces is another of the gory tales that have become the lot of hapless Nigerians.

"No part of the country is safe!

"The authorization to bear arms and other means of self-defence by Governor Samuel Ortom on Benue State residents, coupled with more recent killings in Rivers, Abia, Imo and Niger states, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and other states of the country has necessitated the leadership of the NBM of Africa Worldwide to call on the President Muhammadu Buhari to take urgent steps in providing adequate security for the citizenry and to save the country from imminent collapse.

"We call on President Buhari to invoke necessary constitutional powers to ensure the security of lives and property.

"The leadership of the NBM of Africa Worldwide wishes President Buhari well as he navigates the minefield which the intractable security situation now presents.

"Nigeria remains the largest Black nation in the world and the most populous country in Africa. One out of every four Africans and one out of every five persons of African origin is a Nigerian.

"The Neo-Black Movement doesn't want to see it disintegrate.

"We, therefore, crave an effective and quick intervention from the President, just as we pledge to support the government in its bid to ensure the security and stability of Nigeria."

I want to understand something in this country please someone should explain, Bokoharams has been existing and Buhari and his confused friend Lai Mohammed didn't bother about insecurity in the country.. now UGM has risen to take their possession and the government is complaining about insecurity...
When did the northern Nigeria start Caring so much for the igbos/ibos, who send them to help the igbos and fight UGM for them, Buhari igbos/ibos don't need your help you can go and deploy soldiers in northern Nigeria they are the one that need help... Buhari to help the igbos/ibos fight UGM is not by force.... Fire is burning in igbos/ibo land, the igbos are not complaining but the fulanis and Muslims Yorubas are the one complaining, I'm not understanding, abeg is it your fire? Nonsense!
I don't know why Biafra matter is giving Buhari headech, I heard the government are banning news papers for publishing Biafra news, that means you people will also have to ban nairaland Twitter, Facebook and social media. Thank God for internet buhari would have done more evil in Nigeria than Devil...

The only good thing out the myriad of self inflicted problems facing Nigeria is the self-awareness of the relegation of the southern Nigeria and and its liberation.

You always claim to be apolitical, remain so and mind your business, stop increasing the number of your enemies.
