Women in Mbo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State will today continue in good spirit the acquisition of various skill sets as Dakkada Women Entrepreneurship and Mentorship Programme (DWEMP) reaches day two in the area.

The training program which is organized by the Directorate of Marketing and Brand Management, Office of the Governor, and coordinated by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Marketing and Brand Management, Mrs. Lydia Udohh, is in line with Governor Udom Emmanuel's #CompletionAgenda on job creation.

The program happening right now in Mbo Council Hall, Enwang, offers free vocational skills training in Soap Making, Cosmetology, Catering, Confectionery, Decoration, Tailoring, and Hairdressing amongst others.

While helping women in rural communities to achieve economic sustainability and entrepreneurial development, DWEMP is equipping them with the necessary skills to ensure their participation in the economic development of their various communities.

According to the Coordinator of the program, Mrs. Lydia Udoh, the trainees were selected across different wards in the Local Government and across party lines.

She also disclosed that after the training, Start-up packs will be distributed to participants and a follow-up unit commissioned to monitor and evaluate their progress as well as offer technical assistance.

A graduation and certification ceremony for participants of this training holds tomorrow, Thursday, May 13, 2021, at 10 am. The venue is Mbo Local Government Council Hall, Enwang.
