IPOB Directs Igbo People In Southern Cameroon To Observe May 20 Ambazonia Remembrance Day Over 'Genocidal Killings'
Kanu stated that Biafrans and Ambazonians share the same fate and have enjoyed a robust relationship in their struggle for self-determination hence should support each other’s agitated values.

Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu has directed its members residing in the Southern territories of Cameroon, known as Ambazonia to observe the sit-at-home remembrance day in the land on May 20.

Dr Cho Ayaba, the Ambazonian leader earlier announced that Ambazonians should observe the day to honour the victims of the genocidal killings perpetrated by the Cameroonian President, Paul Biya.

Kanu stated that Biafrans and Ambazonians share the same fate and have enjoyed a robust relationship in their struggle for self-determination hence should support each other’s agitated values.

This was contained in a statement released to SaharaReporters by the media and publicity secretary of the IPOB, Emma Powerful, on Wednesday.

“Following the declaration by the Ambazonia leader, Dr Cho Ayaba, that May 20th would be observed as sit-at-home in Ambazonia to mark the day the Paul Biya-led Government of Cameroon started killing the innocent and peaceful citizens of Ambazonia, the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, under the global command of our leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, hereby, directs all Biafrans living in Ambazobia to fully comply with the directive.

“Biafra and Ambazobia share a lot in common, and we are prepared to give them all the necessary support and solidarity in their struggle for independence.

“We, therefore, urge all Biafrans living in Ambazobia to close shop on May 20, and remain indoors in full compliance with the sit-at-home order by the leader of our sister country. We equally advise all Biafrans intending to travel to Ambazonia on that day to shelve the trip until after the exercise. Biafra and Ambazonia have enjoyed a robust relationship in our struggle for self-determination.

“Ambazobia has adopted 20th of May every year in honour of the victims of the genocidal killings in Ambazonia by the terrorist Republic of Cameroun. This was the day the Paul Biya-led murderous regime in Cameroon launched military onslaught and occupation of Ambazonia.

“The genocidal killing was, however, challenged four years ago through stiff resistance and great sacrifices by patriotic Ambazonians. Consequently, the people of Ambazonia have decided to henceforth, observe the 20th of May as a day to commemorate the resistance and defeat of their enemy, the Cameroonian forces.

“We equally note with delight, the directive by the leadership of the Ambazonian Liberation Movement to all Ambazonians, to observe May 31 Biafra Remembrance Day sit-at-home order in honour of our fallen heroes.

“This show of solidarity between both countries is amazing, and will be sustained until and even after our independence is realised. Both countries shall continue to explore other opportunities to promote peaceful cooperation and regional security and economic advancement,” the statement read.

______________
OFFICE OF THE LEADER AMBAZONIA WAR OF LIBERATION
INFORMATION TO ALL CITIZENS.

Every 20th May, the genocidaire Bulu Republic of Cameroun stages military parades in celebration of our capture, occupation, and surrender.
These victory parades were put to a stop 4 years ago through sacrifice, blood, and defiance. We as a people shall henceforth observe this day as one of Resistance and defeat of the enemy.

On May 20th, 2021, as announced by the War Council, all borders of Ambazonia shall be closed, all activities will come to a halt. Our valiant forces will ensure non-violation and total compliance and our defiant population will be on the watch. All foreign citizens should respect the laws of the land. I have informed the Biafran leadership to advise their citizens against any travel into Ambazonia on this day.

Ambazonians must also be informed that the leadership of IPOB has called for a 'Biafra Heroes and Heroines Remembrance Day' on 31st May 2021. All Ambazonians are advised against any travel into Biafra on this day and all our citizens must take security precautions and stay at home.

WORD!

Okafọ was an Igweọcha (now Port Harcourt) based businessman. He hailed from Ogidi. He went for an apprenticeship then got settled in 1959.

He put more efforts in business then built a house in Port Harcourt.
In 1967, the war broke out. Everyone was scampering for safety.

When Port Harcourt was finally captured by the Federal troops, Okafọ found his way to Ogidi.

After the war, comes the policy of Abandoned Property. Even some Yorubas gave back Igbo, their properties.

But

In Port Harcourt, Okafọ returned to his house and saw strangers in it.
Okafọ thought it was a joke, he went in, only for those who were speaking the dialects of Igbo, their names were Igbo, told him they were not Igbo, not just that, the house belonged to them. The government made it possible. People like Ken Saro Wiwa implemented it. Houses seized.

Okafọ ran to his factory in Ụmụokoro and saw others occupying it. They seized everything, his equipments, machines. The people he met were claiming indigenes. Their names Igbo, culture Igbo but they're from Bini Kingdom. What are you doing in Okafọ's factory? What? What?

Okafọ ran out frustrated. He saw Uchenna from Okigwe.

"Okafọ, ewu ataa m igu n'isi", Uchenna screamed. "Rivers people took over my properties. They seized everything I have laboured for".

Okafọ didn't say a word. There was a silence in the air. He couldn't breath well.

"Uchenna, they took away my house. They took away my factory. They are rejoicing. They are happy".

Okafọ and Uchenna who were billionaires before the war, were given just £20. All their money in Nigerian banks confiscated.

Their crime?

They are Igbo. Why are you Igbo?

They took their £20, then saw other Igbo men in Port Harcourt crying. Everything they had in PH seized. Every Igbo man was equal—£20!

They dusted themselves up. They forgot the past. They left properties. It didn't end there, the Rivers started changing names to deny Igbo.

Fast forward to years later, the Igbo in Port Harcourt started picking up. Those who stole their properties couldn't maintain them. The factories and businesses they loot, they couldn't continue them. They squandelised them and began to sell those properties. They had to feed.

Guess what?

The Igbo whose properties were seized; the Igbo who were given £20 began to re-buy.

They have sold the looted properties of the Igbo, they began to sell their ancestral lands. Selling of land became major business. Guess who are still buying? The Igbo of course.

Now, the Igbo have bought over Port Harcourt. These same lazy bunches who got everything on the platter but couldn't maintain or recreate wealth from them are already crying Igbo domination. They feel Igbo are the cause of their frustrations.
