How do you interpret this verse and to your life.

What do you understand about these bible verses?

As a Christian which do you think applies to you?

Matthew 6:24-31
25“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? 26Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? 27Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?

28“And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, 29yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. 30And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?

31“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ 32These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. 33Seek the Kingdom of Gode above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

34“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

Proverbs 24:33-34....
33A little extra sleep, a little more slumber,

a little folding of the hands to rest—

34then poverty will pounce on you like a bandit;

scarcity will attack you like an armed robber.

Matthew 6 vs 24 -34 applies to those who as followers of Jesus Christ submit to and obey the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ, working the Will of the Father as His Spirit leads. undecided

Those who live according to proverbs 24 vs 33-34, are those who continue to live according to their will in the world. undecided

This applies to all, particularly Christians. There is no discrepancy, but we must compare Holy Scripture with Holy Scripture.

The Lord is saying a number of things here, but within the context in which you bring it up, GOD wants us to:

In Matthew 6:24-31: Work from day-to-day to sustain ourselves and achieve the best you can with what you have - according to the will of GOD, but not to trust in your wealth, or make wealth the primary reason why you do something, or worry when you don't have it! AND

In Proverbs 24:33-34: Not be lazy or steal, but work!

---------------------
Take away messages:

1. Be content and grateful to GOD for anything you have, and even don't have.
"And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content." - 1 Timothy 6:8
"Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” - Hebrews 13:5

2. Don't set your heart on wealth or material things which are only temporary, but set your heart on GOD Who is eternal and mercifully gives eternal life!
"Do not trust in oppression, Nor vainly hope in robbery; If riches increase, Do not set your heart on them." - Psalm 62:10
Lay Up Treasures in Heaven - “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." - Matthew 6:19-21
"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." -Matthew 6:33

3. We should work, and work hard/well - working as "unto GOD and not unto man"! - Colossians 3:23-24
"For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat." - 2 Thessalonians 3:10
"Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going." - Ecclesiastes 9:10

4. Pray to GOD and thank Him always - He knows all things and provides:
"The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, Slow to anger and great in mercy. The Lord is good to all, And His tender mercies are over all His works." - Psalm 145:8-9
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:6-7
"For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need." - Hebrews 4:15-16
