Football superstar Paul Pogba and his Manchester United team-mate Amad Diallo have held up a Palestinian flag following the English football team’s final home game of the season.

The duo’s public display of support for Palestine on Tuesday came as Israel continued its relentless bombardment of the Gaza Strip, which has killed at least 222 Palestinians, including 63 children, and wounded more than 1,400 people since it began on May 10. Twelve people in Israel have died, including two children, by rocket fire from Gaza, while at least 300 Israelis have been wounded.


Pogba appeared to be given the flag by a fan as the players made their way around the pitch during the traditional lap of honour after United’s 1-1 draw with Fulham at Old Trafford.

The French World Cup winner and Ivorian winger Diallo displayed the flag with about 10,000 fans watching after coronavirus restrictions were lifted.

“Pray for Palestine,” Pogba wrote on Instagram after the match, in a post accompanied by a photo showing him carrying the Palestinian flag. “Let’s keep our world safe and free from violence.”

Thousands of protesters marched in support of Palestinians on Saturday in major European cities including London, Berlin, Madrid and Paris, as the worst violence in years raged between Israel and fighters in Gaza.

Leicester players Hamza Choudhury and Wesley Fofana showed support for Palestinians after Saturday’s 1-0 win against Chelsea in the FA Cup final.

1) Israel is bombing Palestine civillians.............................FALSE....Israel is attacking Hamas military paraphernalia with surgical, precise missile attacks...Unfortunately Hamas is shooting missiles from residential areas (which is a war crime itself), making it harder for them to take a hit without incurring civillian casualties

2)Israel has superior military's power so should not retaliate.................FALSE ... that's akin to saying since Nigeria has far more military's power than Niger, if they attack our civillian population with missiles, we should resist from attacking back....Those countries (turkey, Jordan and co) criticizing this would do the same if their civilian population were under attack.

3) Israel caused provocation from Al-aqsa mosque attacks.....................FALSE......the Al-aqsa Mosque issue was more of a landlord-tenant issue that is still in the israeli supreme court.....but even if -for the sake of this arguement- israeli officials attacked worsshippers in the mosque (if this is so its a terrible thing and they are guilty of it then) , would the best response be to launch thousands of rockets into a densely populated area like Tel-Aviv....Thats like saying during the Nigerian-Bakassi imbroglio, a rocket be launched from either side as a form of protest.......
