The Federal Ministry Of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management & Social Development hosted a workshop on stakeholders mapping for effective coordination of humanitarian intervention and on prevention and countering violent extremism in Maiduguri, Borno State

The workshop is aimed at improving the general wellbeing of victims of humanitarian crisis through advocacy for social justice, inclusion as well as reducing the level of escalation of violence through canvassing for dialogue as a desired option.

Having realized the gap inherent in the social issues such as poverty, illiteracy, youth population bulge, and other vices that could lead to violent extremism has deemed it necessary to provide vocational skill as a pilot phase to 40 unemployed youths in Borno State.

A welcome development, Borno really need am, but just 40 youths? Common FG, u guys can do better, if u don't recruit more BH will.

But I feel FG is just being careful with the numbers, there are people that will use these to cause tribal wars if they employ more

If FG engage the youths, I think insecurity will reduce by a big margin, so i don't think those 40 will turn to the other side but I think Govt will do mago mago with this

Bia Nairaland nowadays is gradually loosing it's sophistication, the other day the moderators posted a 1970 update and tagged in Breaking news today somebody will just sit down in his house and carry write. The moderators will still take it to front page. What a sorry state Nairaland is gradually dipping into like Cryptocurrency. Very soon it will loose it taste totally
