Is There A Relationship Between Testicular Size And Male Fertility? by Alexanderrrr: 10:23am On May 20, 2021
The testis can produce a huge number of sperm every day. If the testicular dysfunction appears, it will influence a man's fertility. One dysfunction of the testes is the size.

According to the report of health center, the size of the testes is related to the man's age. For kids up to 12, the testes are at a relatively static stage, the volume of which is usually about 2 to 4ml. By the time a man is in his adulthood, testicular volume becomes approximately 16 to 25ml.

When the man ages, the volume of the testes gradually decreases, and at the age of about 60 to 70, the volume of the testes may be less than 16ml. When the adult male features a bilateral testicular volume with no more than 10ml, it can be seen as small testes, which can easily result in sexual dysfunction and even male infertility.

For average people's testes, both sides are not exactly in the same size. According to the report, the left testis is usually slightly smaller than the right one. As long as the size of both sides are in the average range, it will not have an effect on the male fertility.

If there is trauma on one testicle due to some factors, it will trigger varying testis sizes on both sides. Trauma will also bring about internal bleeding, redness and swelling of the testis, resulting in inadequate blood supplement to the testes. The testis may shrink gradually, which may eventually result in a smaller testis on one side.

Doctors from health center add that some men who suffered from mumps and orchitis at a young age may have damages of the epithelial cells of the convoluted tubules in the testes caused by bacteria infection. In this situation, the testis on one side will shrink a little bit.

In another case, if the testes on both sides had been symmetrical in the past, but one side of them abruptly increased significantly, accompanied by fever and local painful sensation, it may be the result of epididymitis or orchitis. If left untreated for too long, these symptoms will affect sperm production, leading to lower semen and even male fertility.

When it comes to the treatment of epididymitis and orchitis, herbal medicine Diuretic and Anti-inflammatory Pill is a nice option for patients, which features a great effect on eliminating inflammation without side effects. But you should keep in mind that if there are other symptoms related to testicles that can not be solved through medication, you should go see the doctor for further examination and make a complete treatment plan.
