Former vice-president and the Peoples Democratic Party's candidate in the 2019 presidential election Atiku Abubakar has experessed shock over the death of Army Chief of Staff Major Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru and others, NewsPremises reports.

Attahiru, who was only appointed alongside the other Service Chiefs on January 26, 2021, died in the crash alongside 11 others on Friday enroute to Kaduna State.

Taking to his verified tweeter handle to mourn the late Army chief of staff on Friday night, Atiku wrote:

"It is a dark day for the nation. The loss of COAS Major Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru and others today sends a rude shock across Nigeria and our friends worldwide."

Atiku, however, sympathized with the Commander-in-Chief and the Nigerian armed forces on this sad development, and prayed that family of the late Army chief of staff and other affected families be comforted, and their memories be a blessing.

Yeah. It's truly a sad loss.

HE Atiku is probably a UAE citizen by now based on how long he has spent there. This is how he makes it difficult for his lawyers when they find out. He is the only Presidential candidate I know in the history of Nigeria that his nationality itself became a legal tussle. From Cameroonian to Nigerian and probably now UAE citizen. Turaki should stop falling our hands o.
