The Iron Dome- Israel’s Dextera Domini by ibinaboonline: 11:38am On May 25, 2021
Christians and Jews may disagree on many things, but both sects cannot deny that the Iron Dome is Israel's Dexerta Domini. “Dextera Domini” is Latin for “The right hand of God” The clause is also used in the Bible and common speech as a metaphor for the omnipotence of God and as a motif in art.
In the Bible, to be at the right side "is to be identified as being in the special place of honor”. In the Bible, the right hand, and especially God's right hand, is the hand of strength, authority, and blessing. So being seated at the right hand of God, for example, means that one share God's strength, authority, and blessing.
Even if you believe the Bible to be a book of fiction, at least you know that fiction places Israel at God’s right hand and many historical events, both in favor of Israel and otherwise, can be credited to Israel’s supposed spiritual position on God’s right side.
Today, the Iron Dome plays a role very similar to Dextera Domini; the right hand of God. Supposedly, the right hand of God gives you the upper hand and that’s the glorious role Israel’s Iron Dome plays today as has become obvious in the ongoing conflict between Hamas of Palestine and the IDF of Israel. But what exactly is the Iron Dome?
In a nutshell, the Iron Dome is a mobile all-weather air defense system developed by Rafael Advanced Defense Systems and Israel Aerospace Industries. Take note of the little details; “mobile”, “all-weather”. This formidable missile interceptor and launcher we know as the Iron Dome can be moved around and can operate in all weather- rain, sun, or snow.
Also, take note of the little detail that the Iron Dome was built by Israeli Rafael Advanced Defense Systems in partnership with Israel Aerospace Industries. Unlike some claim, the US did not help build the Iron Dome, except of course, in financial aid. And, former President Trump can't get all the credit for that either.
The Iron Dome was developed with the support of hundreds of millions of dollars of aid from the United States government, backed by the then-Obama administration, according to congressional reports that track U.S. foreign aid to Israel.
Deployed in 2011 and built and maintained with $1.6 billion in U.S. funding, the Iron Dome system consists of a network of connected batteries and radars that fire at rockets that seem to be heading to populated areas and ignore those likely to fall into empty fields. Each battery has its own radar, command-and-control center, and launchers that fire the Tamir interceptor missiles.
Currently, there are 10 Iron Dome batteries deployed throughout Israel, with each battery intended to defend 60 square miles.
But how accurate is the Iron Dome missile intercept? Rafael initially claimed a success rate of over 90%, with more than 2,000 interceptions at the time. Even then, experts agreed the success rate is over 80%. The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas has shown just how much accuracy can be attributed to the Iron Dome.
A case in point is the ongoing conflict between the IDF and Hamas. Between 2011 and 2014, the Iron Dome had intercepted more than 1200 rockets. In the less than two weeks since the ongoing attack and counter-rocket attack between Palestine and Israel, more than 3,000 rockets have been fired towards Israel by Hamas with the Iron Dome intercepting more than 90% of them. Now, love or hate Israel, that’s impressive combat technology.
The Iron Dome, also known as I-Dome, has a sister known as the C-Dome. The C-Dome Naval Point Defense System is designed to effectively protect combat vessels against a large set of modern threats. In other words, Israel exerts Dexerta Domini both on land and sea.
If nothing else, the ongoing escalation of conflict between Hamas of Palestine and the IDF military shows one thing; the Iron Dome is not just a symbol of Israel’s omnipotence. It is their ace in the hole, no doubt. Ace in the hole is a hidden advantage or resource kept in reserve until needed. This term comes from the game of stud poker, in which one or more cards are turned face down, or “in the hole,” as bets are placed.
Israeli citizens can bet on one of the world's most tried and tested air-defense systems. But they should also remember their God and their God’s history of handing them over to their enemies when they turn away from Him. In the unfortunate event that the God of Israel turns His back on them, not even the I-Dome and C-Dome put together can protect them. But so far, so good.
