On Tuesday afternoon, May 25, residents of Orji community in Owerri North LG of Imo State fled for their lives after unknown gunmen stormed the streets, firing sporadically into the air.

The gunmen, who arrived in large groups, moved openly through the streets, firing bullets into the air.

In recent months, the state of Imo has been the target of many attacks by unknown gunmen.
