Lagos had electricity, roads, bridges, ports, airport, tram, telephone, railway, banks, etc long before Nigeria was formed and before it became the capital of Nigeria,

The biggest Investors in Lagos are SW and foreigners.

So as calabar and port Harcourt... the difference between lagos and the other 2 is sustainability and who are those that have made it so?? Making it the capital and investments from the easterners

You Igbos need to get over yourselves. You hateful, envious, ungrateful and senselessly tribalistic folks are the only ones still making the discredited excuse of Lagos being what it is today because it was a former capital.

Your ego and bloated sense of self-worth is the reason your region is the worst in Nigeria while you continue to shout you developed everywhere worldwide.

Can you explain how it makes logical sense for you to claim you developed places you have no political, administrative, legislative or infrastructural control over yet you cannot develop States of your region where Igbos are 100% in charge?

Bad belle and running empty mouth is all you Igbos know to do. It is getting stale and Ghana is the latest nation to become fed up of your empty noise and nuisance.

Look at bad belle sha... how many major investetments do u yorubas have in lagos?? Its not even up to 25 percent.... Biggest being GTB ...any other is politically supported ...of which it still is not much.... the biggest tax payers in lagos are the igbos , the biggest top choice property owners in lagos are the igbos... the hausas will not just invest in lagos... just about a few like dangote that is supported by government....

I am also from Ikorodu n I make bold to say that if among all the problems plaguing Lagos Tinubu who I can bet my life as contributed more positively to the development of Lagos than anyone from your household ever will is your problem then you need a brain check.

Before becoming Lagos state governor how many average or standard Esstate have you constructed in Ikorodu ? How many businesses or people did you employ in Ikorodu ?

bcomputer101:

You this multicoloured human being, I'm from Ikorodu local government of Lagos State.

Very soon I'm coming back to Nigeria to contest for Lagos State Governor. I will show you typical example of modern development.

Liar!! Most of the developmental infrastructures in Lagos today were built with Biafra's oil money and the majority of the investments today in Lagos are owned by Igbos.

When was Nigeria formed? Before 1914. Lagos already had all those infrastructures before the entity called Nigeria. cheesy

My point still stands.

Lagos had telephone (1886), new paper publication house (1896), Banks (1894 & 1899), electricity (1896), Tramway system (1901), carter bridge (1901), Lagos - Ibadan train (1900), paved roads with cars etc before other tribes stepped a foot in Lagos as at 1901, and only SW money was used to accomplish these.

Now, mention which of these infrastructures were in Port Harcourt and Calabar before 1914? grin

Lagos and SW money were used to develop P/H, Calabar and Enugu. grin

There were no other tribes in Lagos as at 1901.

So who made it sustainable? Stop fooling yourself. grin

Eko is Yoruba short for Ereko which means field and for Confirmation Ereko Market where the Egbas and Ijebu traded is still on Lagos Island today

Also Eko Ende in Osun State was one of the Locations of the Jalumi War of 1878

On the day the British Colonial Government first landed in Lagos in 1851 Oyo controlled Badagry Area Which they had taken from the king of Dahomey along with Porto Novo (Ajase) in War . The Oyos had fought Dahomey as Allies of the Eguns
Aare Oona Kakanfo Oyabi had led the Oyo Army

The Abeokuta Egba Army Controlled all of Lagos Mainland including the areas of Ebutte Metta ,Surulere,Ifo,Iju,, Ikeja, Agege , Iganmu, Oworonsoki, Mushin , Yaba , Oyingbo they had won it all in the Ota War of 1842 in Which the Oyos of Ibadan fought as Allies of Oba Kosoko and the Awori and received such a heavy defeat at the hands of the Egbas that the Ibadan Army had to be smuggled back home.

The whole Episode almost led to the downfall of Basorun Oluyole back at Ibadan

The Ijebu Controlled Everything East and North of Lekki

All Oba Kosoko Controlled was the Slave market and Port of Isale Eko on Lagos Island, Even Ikoyi belonged to the Onikoyi who was an Oyo man

Again if you hear that Yorubas spent 100 years fighting themselves till 1878,

Just know that the Egba, Ijebu and Oyo Which included Ibadan were fighting for Control of the Coast of Lagos

Control of the Coast of Lagos meant Titanic Wealth. but unfortunately much of that was from the Slave trade

The Lagos territory Controlled by the Egbas , Oyo and Oba Kosoko belonged to the Awori People who were the most Peaceful and accommodating of all Yoruba Clans

The Ijebu controlled their own Lands

The Awori have inhabited Lagos since the 13th Century when they migrated from Ile Ife led by Olofin Ogunfuminire who was a great grandson of Oduduwa and a nephew of Oranmiyan who headed to Benin around the same period

The Otun Ekiti People migrated from Lagos in the 15 th Century and share the same ancestry with the Awori of Lagos

Honestly, a lot of Igbos are so driven by hate to the extent they are no longer capable of reasoning like sane and well-adjusted people. The proven reality that factual evidence support is that Yorubas are at least in charge of 60% of the wealth and productivity of Lagos.
Leaving 40% for the over 300 ethnic groups of Nigeria to share.

Sad that Igbos would rather bury their brain in the ground to then accept that of a toad their manipulator decides to 'dash' them.

Just look at how Kanu is manipulating them to destroy themselves and their land. Are those the sort of people anyone should take seriously when they make outlandish and emptily megalomaniac claims?

If we are dealing with facts, how many of the biggest retailing, service provision, manufacturing, financial sector and socio-economic activities of Lagos do Yorubas not control comfortably?

Lol. Poor and middle income earners dey live in the Hamptons, USA, or Kensington in the UK? Even in many African nations there are enclaves for the rich and successful only.

This is the reality of life any sensible and pragmatic adult accepts. This is why people have and retain ambition in life. I.e to make it and enjoy the greater benefits of making it.

The existence of those enclaves, most built with private cash, is not the reason "poor and middle class income earners" do not have adequate accommodation.

Ultimiately, people like you are the problem of Nigeria. You cannot stop being negative and bitter, for the sake of it alone, even when there is no need or relevant argument for your idiocy.
I accept this idiocy if it craves for the plight of the common man. Our conversation has been intellectual and I must say that the way you have put up your points have been quite impressive. You have earned my respect for that.

They truly have no shame. You will never see SS folks dragging anywhere in the SW with Yorubas. Same as you never see Yorubas dragging any part of Nigeria with the indigenes.

The annoying thing about Igbos is their casual readiness to lie and make things up just to sooth their tribalistic egos and suppress the inferiority complex constantly eating away at them.

Joke of a people. Ghana has already told them to leave as they dont want their "developer" help in their nation. Lol.

Sometimes pictures oversell actual reality, but in this situation it's even looking better in person. More spaced out and capable of handling millions of people. Roads and sidewalks are HUGE. This will be the greatest city in Africa once said and done. Johannesburg and Cairo are great but we're built in 80s/90s and have nothing like this ultramodern city development, just a fact.

No, it's not a fact.

Johannesburg is still expanding and has managed to almost complete it's new ultra-modern city Sandton in the time those 2 lonely buildings have been standing in Eko Atlantic. Focus has now shifted to building the new Lanseria city in South Africa.

Cairo too is at an advanced stage building it's new capital.

Below are real pictures of new Sandton, not computer graphics like your Eko.
