Man defiles his 18-month-old child, two other daughters

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps in Anambra State on Thursday paraded a 48-year old man, Thomas Igbo, for allegedly defiling his three daughters.

The suspect, from Ikolo, Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State, who resides in Enugwu-Ukwu, in the Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State with his wife and four kids, was said to have sexually abused the three female children aged 8, 4 and 18 months respectively.

The suspect who admitted abusing his eldest daughter, denied molesting the remaining two, blaming his action on alcohol.

It was gathered that one of the daughters revealed the molestation of the father to a neighbour who reported the matter a human rights group, Child Protection Network , which facilitated the arrest.

" A hospital in Enugwu-Ukwu confirmed that the three children were severally molested", the neighbour said.

The NSCDC, State Commandant, David Billie, while parading the suspect said investigation had commenced on the matter.

He said the suspect would be charged when judiciary workers, currently on strike, resumed.

He described the action as painful, advising parents to be more responsible in taking care of their children.

The spokesperson for Child Protection Network, Mrs Okwuchukwu Chukwuenyem, said the case was brought to her knowledge after a neighbour noticed the despicable behaviour of the man.
She said, "What made the neighbour raised eyebrows was the day the man asked one of the daughters in pidgin English, "e sweet" to the neighbour's hearing.
