How was life before you became known?

It was normal. It was a completely different world then where I was concerned mostly about survival and the basic needs of life.

How is life now?

Life now is completely different. Being a public figure, one is the eye of the storm. People tend to judge one from their standpoint based on their imagination and expectation of one. I am more careful, patient, and conscious of my personality.

What has stardom changed about you?

I have always been a gentleman and I remain so. I now work extra hard to be able to live within a certain threshold. Above all, stardom has made me more private.

How do you cope with hero worship?

I have a humble disposition, so I try to play it down. I try to make people I come across feel more comfortable by being nice to them.

What is your advice to up-and-coming entertainers?

They should have the fear of God and try as much as possible to be humble. They should never take advantage of their fans no matter what the situation might be. Sometimes, out of appreciation, fans may throw themselves at one. But as one who is reasonable, one should try and manage the situation with maturity because what goes around comes around.

What movie are you currently working on?

I just rounded off principal photography on the movie, Passionate Encounter. It is currently in the post-production stage.

What are the challenges you’ve faced as a film director and producer?

Funding and distribution are the major challenges in the industry.
To raise the required fund is often challenging and to get a proper distribution that guarantees the return on investment is another.

Another major challenge is power. The epileptic supply of electricity has created a serious noise pollution as a result of multiple generators in our neighbourhoods making it difficult to ever garner a good sound during principal photography.
