It’s May the 31st, a day that Nnamdi Kanu and the IPOB family has ordered a sit-at-home in memory of all those who died in the Biafran struggle.

It has become a yearly event since the advent of IPOB. Originally used to holding on the 30th of May, this year’s own was moved to 31st because 30th was Sunday and wouldn’t be significant enough.

Governors and security agents in the old Biafran territories had dismissed the order and told residents to go about their businesses but happenings in the lead on to this morning has suggested otherwise to anybody who values his or life.

Even Gov. Umahi of Ebonyi who had earlier issued threats has reportedly made a you turn.

Now to the topic, what’s the level of compliance from what you can capture in your area? Are people going about their normal businesses or are they obeying the order?

The two pictures below are what I could capture from my balcony somewhere in the city of Enugu. As of past 7am on a Monday morning, the street is deserted.

What is it like in your area?

This is Afikpo road Abakaliki, the busiest road in Ebonyi State, looking deserted for the first time since the 'sit at home order started.
