The Abuja police command shot teargas to disperse protesters who converged at the Unity Fountain for a demonstration today. In the process, a female police officer reportedly fired a teargas canister at the convener of #RevolutionNow Protests and former aspirant for Nigeria President Omoyele Sowore at the Unity Fountain in Abuja on Monday, May 31.

Therefore, the politician cum activist was said to have sustained injuries and has been rushed to a hospital for medical treatment. He took to his social media to confirm the incident saying he is not afraid of losing his life in the struggle.

Sowore said: ”Just been shit by a police officer, ACP Atine at the Unity Fountain in Abuja. #RevolutionNow Let the struggle continue even if they take my life! #BuhariMustGo”

The journalist also shared the encounter with the police through his Facebook live.
