Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State today announced a 25 per cent reduction in the overall tuition fees paid by students of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomosho (LAUTECH).

The governor, who made the announcement while paying a thank-you visit to the students of the institution, also pledged that the reduction will cut across the board benefitting indigenes and non-indigenes, adding that he is making such a move even though the institution’s tuition is the lowest in the entire South-West region of the nation.

Gov Makinde also stated that in a bid to fulfil his promise to the students during his electioneering campaign, he actualized the sole ownership of LAUTECH for Oyo state and fixed the Under G metropolis road in the school.

In his words, “Let me tell you, the LAUTECH fee is still the lowest in the entire South West. Having said that, I will reduce your fee across the board; whether indigenes or non-indigenes, even new students. There will be a reduction of 25 per cent across board.”

While increasing debt profile by over 150 billion in 2 years worst of it is it's from commercial banks and bonds

I hope Lautech students helps pay back the loans as they are big boys and debt burden shouldn't be taxed on Oyo State people

All these governors just love courting wahala in the name of doing good.
The token the school is getting from the state purse might stop or reduce soon, yet you are reducing the fee paid, why not prevent an increment for the next 5years as that will have more benefits for the students and institution.
Students of the sch should brace up for an internal strike within the next 1 or 2yrs as lack of money go soon cause kasala for that sch
