Lawal Azeez Olayemi the commissioner for youths and sports development has said the governor of Osun State Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola has approved the commencement of sport festival, governor's cup and principal cup across secondary schools in Osun.

Mr Lawal who said this during a visitation to the palace of Aragbiji of Iragbiji Land Oba Ayo Rasheed Olabomi by the members of Peculiar Ultimate Concern and the NFF president, led by Engr Lanre Adeleke and Mr Amaju Pinnick respectively for the commencement of a mini-stadium in the ancient city of many hills. He said “the government of Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola has just approved, yesternight, the commencement of sports festival, governor's and principal cups as a way of revitalising the decaying sports sector of our state so the youths can be engaged and shun them from any act that many endanger their lives or the people around.”

The Iragbiji mini-stadium will be a reciprocatory act from Perculiar Ultimate Concern to the government which has promised to provide public water, electric power of 33KVA and good interlink road infrastructure for the smooth running of the ongoing Lanreleke Sports Academy project in the ancient town of Ileogbo. “According to the FIFA rule, for a stadium to get approval or upgrade to FIFA standard, it needs to have around it six mini-stadia that will serve as training ground for the main bowl. What Lanreleke facilitators have done is a good way showing appreciation by ensuring six mini-stadia are within the same vicinity of the main bowl while other senatorial districts were agreed to be given a mini-stadium each,” said Lawal who went further that “during our discussion, government agreed with the Peculiar Ultimate Consult on some terms and the organisation decided to do reciprocatory act by constructing two stadia in East and Central senatorial District in Osun so we can have rapid improvement of grassroots sports in Osun state.”

The Aragbiji of Iragbiji Oba Rasheed Olabomi who couldn't hide his joy said “this is a very big moment for me and we shall always cherish tit forever. He appreciates and commend the MD of Peculiar Ultimate Concern Engr Lanre Adeleke for his tenacity, love for humanity, quality project delivery and humility.

Thereafter, the moving train of the team proceeded to the palace of Ooni of Ife where they talked and had a sumptuous dinner with the Odole Oodua in his palace in the rich city of Ife. There, Ooni greets and commends the availability of NFF president, Justice Jide Falola, Mutiu Adepoju and Engr Lanre Adeleke.

In his remark, HIM Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi said “from different places, I've heard many good things about you and I'm glad you're visiting the source of humanity today. This project is a laudable one and I am proud to associate with this development-oriented project which will, in no far time, produce many new JJ Okocha, Mutiu Adepoju, Rashidi Yekini among others.” Ooni who couldn't hide his delightfulness commended the efforts of private-public management bridge gapping which adminstration of Amaju Pinnick has improved in NFF since he became the president.

The founder of the project, Engr LanreAdeleke who was accompanied by his wife throughout the journey said “We recognise the efforts of Mutiu Adepoju, the national director of Laliga in Nigeria for his efforts and how he went ahead to seek partnership for the project before it even began ”

He proceeded that “In the area of sports in Nigeria, we've had before what is called football academy, however, in Ileogbo now, we are having three-in-one sports academy” “It is happening for the first time in Nigeria where we have in an academy, sports arena and an 18-hole golf course together in a compound”

“By the time the project is completed, it will be a place where we can bring scouts to recognise talents and make big names out of Osun State”

He's a catalyst of major developments for the people of this town as no government can remember us in the distribution of such projects across the country or the state.

In his statement, he clearly differentiated between Sports Academy and Football Academy. He said “what we are having in Ileogbo is Sports Academy which is all encompassing and admission into this academy will purely be on merit. We are starting with 120 students in September and 60 of them will be on free tuition.”

“For this project, there is a collaborative of over 60billion naira that will be spent across the country with one facility in each geopolitical zone. With a special preference to Plateau State because of the climate, we are hopeful that Nigeria will become a giant again in the field of sport. He is also hopeful of winning the world cup very soon.” said Adeleke who had in his entourage Mutiu Adepoju, Justice Jide Falola, Neville Bekederemo SSA to Delta State governor on Sports and Youths development, NFF team, among others.

While I was so young and in primary school, we would always avoid passing through the stadium going home anytime the public schools were playing in the stadium because matches were full of hooligans and would always cause trouble.

The Governor needs to work on the safety and security of everyone involved in the matches
