Today, people are keenly interested in buying what you’re selling online. But how do you draw them in?
The problem that most business owners face isn’t about how they can set up a website or even start a blog; it’s about how they can actually drive traffic to their digital storefront. If you’re not a seasoned digital sleuth, you’ve likely struggled with getting noticed through a variety of online marketing.

So what do you do? Where do you turn to? How do you get people to notice you online?
To rise above the noise, you need to understand some basic principles. This isn’t just about implementing the latest secret for driving traffic to your site or hacking your way to the top of Google’s search result page. No. This is about adopting tried-and-true methods that the biggest online marketers use to create authority and drive traffic to their websites over time.
This article doesn’t list every traffic strategy under the sun, instead, it lists some of the proven strategies that can work for you if you adopt them.

So I came up with a list of 5 things you can do right now to increase your website traffic and get your marketing moving.

1. Publish A BlogPost
Did you know that blogging is the cornerstone of good online marketing and good content marketing? I bet you already know this. If you are looking to drive traffic to your website, you should be publishing a new blog post every single day or thrice a week if possible, but at the very least a post per week is much better than nothing.

2. Share Your Content
As a business, whether new or existing, I’m sure you already have at least some kind of presence on social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc). But are you really active on at least a few of those networks? It is important that you breathe new life into your social marketing. Take some pieces of content from your website, it could be a blog post, a section from your landing page, and share that content on 2-3 of your social networks not forgetting to add your website link (url) at the end of the content to direct people to your website for more information.

3. Send Out Emails
The third item on this list will only apply if you already have some kind of email list in your business database. The size of your email list does not matter here. My guess is that you have let your email marketing go by the way-side. So now it’s time to get it moving again by sending out one email today. Try a newsletter type email, or try a sales & promotional email, this works a lot for brands that know how to do it right. But how do you know if you are doing it right if you are consistent? Sending out emails frequently will help you understand your lead more and help you make your email marketing more effective. Just get something out to your database. And with promotional emails, you are sure to get a huge percentage of those in your email database to visit your website for more information on that promo.

4. Target Topics with Search Traffic Potential

Without any doubt, search engine optimization (SEO) is one of the best ways to achieve consistent, long-term results. For as long as you rank high on Google, you’ll be able to generate passive organic traffic to your site.
To do this, you need to write about topics people are searching for. In other words: topics with search traffic potential.


5. Try Paid Advertising
Finally, if you’re looking for a much quicker traffic infusion and you have the budget, you can try some form of “paid advertising.” Google Adwords PPC allows you to buy clicks to appear top on the Google search result page. Or you can also try social media advertising on networking sites like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

These 5 suggestions are quick ideas to help you get more traffic to your website and get moving. The short-term objective is to get something (anything!) done. The long-term objective is to get more traffic to your website so you can get more prospects, more leads, and more paying customers.
Ideally, you should be doing all 5 things listed in this blog post, but I realize for some business owners, that’s just not realistic. So adopting at least one item on this list will help you increase your website traffic and as time goes on, you can add more of the strategies on this blog post to get a more effective result.
