Femi Falana (SAN) the human rights lawyer has claimed that the decision of the federal government of Nigeria to suspend the operation of Twitter by Gen. Muhammed Buhari is in breach of Chapter IV of the 1999 constitution of Nigeria.

Twitter Ban: Falana Speaks About FG Plan to Gag Media, the activist said the suspension of Twitter in Nigeria has going against chapter IV of the 1999 constitution as amended. Falana made this know to the press (Punch) during a chat with the media men shortly after the government announced the closure of the Twitter operation indefinitely in Nigeria.

Falana said:

“Chapter IV of the Constitution has been suspended as a result of this legislation. Nigerians would soon have to rely solely on the NTA and the FRCN for information. For upsetting the government, media outlets such as Channels TV and others have been penalized, and they may be outlawed shortly.
