Recently, the media is awashed with news, opinions & articles of the power-sharing arrangement of the PDP now that the general elections are over.Of particular interest is the Senate President! It has been argued logically that the post of the Senate President be zoned to either the NE or NC considering the fact that the President & the Vice President come from the SS & NW respectively. This percieved arrangement, which is right on spot, has propped up names such as Danjuma Goje,Bukola Saraki & Abdullahi Adamu as possible contenders to the much coveted seat.Of course,it is common knowledge that the incubent senate president,Sen.David Mark,is also very much interested.Looking at this four candidates, there may be more, one wonders what the trio of Danjuma Goje,Bukola Saraki & Abdullahi Adamu know about legislative business that they want to be senate president? In a saner society, people don't just jump at positions like that either b'cos they have money or influence, but they take their time to learn the ropes. Our governors-turned legislators should please exercise a little patience to learn the nitty gritty of legislation;this usually takes at least four years.A man who has just pulled the governorship regalia may unconsciously see other Senators as his Aides if made the senate president, and that is big problem! If not that we are in a democracy,i would have humbly suggested that the seat of the senate president be an exclusive reserve for the incubent leader,Sen.David Mark for now.The maturity with which he has led the upper legislative chamber over the years is overwhelming. His reign has brought about relative peace to the National Assembly. His administration has buried the unnecessary antagonism of the National Assembly to the Executive. This is not cowardice  or rubber-stamping but a mutual understanding, which has brought more progress & stability to our polity.Conclusively, the task of leading the upper legislative chamber is enormous and very challenging,it should not be given to inexperienced hands but experienced, matured & competent hands.I think Sen.DAVID MARK still scores the highest mark here again. We should put him there till 2015 when Nigerians & God will give him bigger  national responsibility.God bless Nigeria!!EMMANUEL JOHN is Founder and National Cordinator Of Graduate Foundation,GRAFO.08065224596.
