The VP is not weak, rather he is a statesmen, he knows that it is not a definite fact that Fulani actually committed this atrocity. More investigation still needs to go into this before we conclude that it was Fulani.

For all we know it could be communal clashes or even those agitating for Oduduwa Republic launching attacks on their own people who may not agree with the ideology they preach. This is multi-dimensional, as such, we have to tread careful to ensure that the ethnic image of the Fulani is not maligned.

The VP knows that such utterances can have grave reactions and is doing the proper thing by waiting for an in-depth investigation before castigating a whole ethnic group. This is not weakness, but strength, more southern politicians should take note.
