Najib Said, Negotiating With The United States To Buy Excess Vaccines by Valentina1987: 2:29am On Jun 10, 2021
Former Prime Minister Najib Razak (Najib Razak) said that Malaysia should negotiate with the United States to purchase Covid-19 vaccine from its excess inventory to speed up the country's vaccine distribution.
He said in a Facebook post that, in addition to the United States, as the United Kingdom reaches its vaccination target, it is expected that the UK's vaccine inventory will also become excessive.
He said Malaysia must try to negotiate with these countries to increase vaccination rates.
The United States will announce in the next two weeks how to sell and distribute 80 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine worldwide.
It is expected that US President Joe Biden will focus on the fair distribution of immunizations without any political conditions attached to the process.
His government will ship at least 20 million doses of Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines. This is the basis for the 60 million doses of AstraZeneca he has planned to provide to other countries.
Najib said that Malaysia is eligible for priority access to these vaccines from the United States.
He pointed out that although the Covid-19 situation in Thailand is not so severe, Thailand has announced that the United States has agreed to help them obtain the vaccine.
Yesterday, the vaccination rate in the United States has dropped to 1 million doses per day, although those who want to get vaccinated no longer need to make an appointment.
The Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Khairy Jamaluddin previously blamed Malaysia’s slow vaccination rate on insufficient supply caused by “vaccine inequality” in developed countries.
"Some rich countries have bought three to five times as much vaccine for their citizens.
According to reports, he once said: "For obvious reasons, many pharmaceutical companies prefer rich countries."

I think it should be reasonably arranged and can effectively ensure the current epidemic, and the phenomenon of insufficient supply should end as soon as possible.
