Based on available data, the United States of America generates more revenue than the rest of the world combined.

Do not be deceived, Nigeria and Nigerians need Twitter more. Twitter has been the voice of mainly the educated Nigerians in Nigeria/diaspora; and a customer service platform for all private and public institutions in Nigeria.

There's no doubt that a lot of Nigerians are on that platform but the truth is that many of them are not based in Nigeria. Majority of Nigerians in Nigeria have become too poor to afford our overly expensive and capped data bundles.

....and some myopic fangs would be siding the federal government for banning twitter. Same government would be shouting through all the commercial banks that those in the diaspora should remit money home and earn some naira over every dollar sent to boost our drowning forex market . They said the promo would and in May, only for them to extend it. Lots of Nigerians on twitter rake into the country dollars more, by promoting and selling their products to those living overseas who would pay in dollars into their various domiciliary accounts.

This government isn't getting it at all.

Are you okay sir? Did Buhari ban Nigerians in diaspora from tweeting? Who gave him the power?

You should be ashamed that majority of your 200 million population can't even read or write let alone handle a sophisticated app like Twitter

There are less than 2 million (including duplicate Accounts) Twitter users in Nigeria.

It's a noisy vocal minority. Little wonder why Twitter patterns doesn't translate to political reality.
