Owerri municipal is highly in shortage of accomodation. Available flats are taken up as soon as the owner accepts tenants to park in even when some works are yet to be completed. Many buildings in the city are a storey or two unlike Onitsha where its 4/5 storey buildings with pent houses. The land within the said area is table land with no swamp. Room and palour flats are hot cakes same with two bedroom flat. |

Owerri town is highly centralized. It takes a drop of just N100 to get into Owerri main town from : Irete/Orogwe via Onitsha Ubomiri via Orlu rd Akabo via Okigwe rd Mbaise/Emekuku via Mbaise rd Ngo Okpala via Aba rd Avu/Umuagwo via PH rd thus people living in all these areas has access to Owerri in just about 10mins. This makes real estate a juicy option in Owerri. And you can buy a standard plot of land for 600k in developing areas and about 15M in a built up zone. |

One of the best investments you can site in Owerri is a student hostel - its a money spinner. There are about 6 major higher institutions in Owerri alone. FUTO, IMSU, ALVAN, NEKEDE POLY, UMUAGWO COLLEGE all are within the Owerri municipal. None of these schools owns hostels that can take 20% of their regular students. Providing accomodation for them is mega cash. An average self contain room in students hostel goes for 150k yearly - this more lucrative than giving out a 2B/r for 400k. Secondly, students dont owe rents as normal tenants. |

Owerri has housing deficit! For years, Owerri and environs has lesser high rise buildings thus accomodation hiccups. Expo! Put up 4/5 storey building and smile better. |
